OBSERVING THE SKY HELP US TO KNOW WEATHER

METEOROLOGICAL CONDITION

- tropical cyclone affect the locality

- wind 30-60kph expected in at least 36 hours or intermittent rains expected within 36 hours

IMPACT OF WINDS

- twigs and branches of small trees may be broken

- some banana plant may be tilted

- some house of very little material (nipa or cogon) maybe partially unroofed

-rice crop may suffer significant damage when it is flowering stage

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

-when Tropical cyclone in intensifying it can be upgraded to higher level

- waves of coastal waters may gradually develop and become bigger and higher

- people advise to listen to weather bulletin issued by PAGASA every 6hours

-Disaster Preparedness is activated to alert status

-Preschool suspended

- a tropical cyclone will affect the locality

- Wind faster than 60 kph - 100 kph expected at least 24 hours


IMPACT OF WINDS

-coconut trees may be tilted with few others broken

-few big trees may be uprooted

-Many banana plants may be downed

- rice and corn may be adversely affected

-large number of nipa and cogon houses may be partlly to totally unruffled

- some galvanised iron roofs may be peeled off

- wind may bring light to moderate damage to the exposed communities

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

-sea and coastal waters are dangerous to small sea crafts

- geral public, especially, travelling by sea and air are cautioned to avoid unnecessary risks

- Outdoor activities should be postponed

- Secure properties before signal is upgraded

- DPA are in action to alert their communities

- Preschool and elementary level no classes

METEOROLOGICAL CONDITION

- affect the locality

-wind faster than 100kph - 185 kph expected within 18 hours

IMPACT OF THE WINDS

- Many coconuts may be broken or destroyed

-banana plants may be downed and large number of trees may be uprooted
-Majority of nipa and cogon house may be unroofed or destroyed and there may be considerable
damage to structures of light and medium construction service

- Moderate to heavy damage in agricultural and industrial sectors

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES

- DISTURBANCE IS DANGEROUS TO COMMUNITY

-sea and coastal waters dangerous to all sea crafts

- Travels is risky by sea and air

- People are advised to seek shelter in strong buildings, evacuate low-lying areas, and to stay away from
coasts and river banks.

-watch out for passage of the eye of the typhoon that hits the community

- classess in all level are suspended , children should stay at home

- intense typhoon

winds faster than 185kph expected in tablets 12 hrs.

IMPACT OF WINDS

- Coconut plantation suffer extensive damage

- large trees uprooted

_Rice and corn plantation suffer severe damage

-Residential and institutions building of mixed construction material may be severely damaged

-Electric power distribution and communication may be severly disrupted

- heavy damage on communities
