This is my mother. Amerlissa S. Mercado.

She was a Physics teacher in Central

Azucarera Tarlac High School for more than 10 years. She gave up teaching to
work in the US, to be able to support us her sons, financially, for our studies.
She loves teaching so much and she is very satisfied with her job as a
professional teacher, for she was able to be of help and give her students all
the knowledge she has about their subject. She usually gets sad when she sees
that their materials in their school are lacking, for she and the other teachers
will not be able to teach well their students without some materials. Her most
unforgettable experience as a teacher is during her first day of teachings,
where in she gets to experience teaching under a tree, for she cannot teach
inside the classroom because there were so few classrooms that they have to
combine to sections in one classroom.

This is my father. Joseph F. Mercado. He was a Math teacher in Don Bosco

Mandaluyong and also he taught in a public school, though I forgot already
how long he has been teaching. He was very satisfied with his teaching, seeing
how the students and parents appreciate his work and what he do for the
students, but in the public school he gave up for the blame the teacher
mentality. What makes him happy is to see to his students what he teaches
them and learn from them and appreciate the work their teachers does for
them. Being a mentor, he encourages his fellow teachers to put into heart
their teaching and see teaching as a mission. Today he sees teachers as very
busy persons, attending many seminars, meetings and other more that is
required in their teaching and even lose their time with their families. After
years of teaching, he gave up his teaching career and went into managing a
family farm.

This is Bro. Dominic Verano, SDB. He is an art teacher, at present, both, in the
college department also in the High School department. He is very satisfied
with his career as a teacher especially at present for the subjects given to him
were his interests, but, in teaching High School students he found it hard,
though he tried to do his best, because he considered what he does as an
apostolate. He always finds joy in becoming a teacher, especially in seeing his
students interested with the lesson and seeing them getting good grades and
apply his teachings. Despite all of his difficulties, he still wants to continue his
teaching career, for it is part of his vocation and he also likes teaching and
believes that no matter what happens, he will die as an educator.
Mrs. Angelina Quiatchon, she is our former linguistics teacher, unfortunately,
I was not able to get a picture of her, for she does not use social networking,
for me to be able to get her photo. She uses to tell us stories, about what the
school looks like before, who her students are when she was still teaching
here in Don Bosco, and that most of her students are already Salesians. She
portrays the best example of a teacher I can say. She also experienced
teaching in a school in America, wherein, she absorbed or she got some of the
attitudes of the teachers in the country, wherein, when she returned in our
country, she was so very good in teaching, that even those who are usually
being left behind, she got to motivate those students. Whenever we would ask
him before all she would say is that, teaching is not only a job, but, it is
something we do not for ourselves, but, for others, then teaching becomes our
gift to others.

This is Prenovice Jonas Paulo Lacson. He is bound to become a Novice for the
next formation year, and enter the congregation. He earned his degree in Don
Bosco College, Canlubang, in March of 2015 and he earned his degree by the
schools teachings which are the causes that would help them understand and
apply the concept of teaching through discussion and activities and most
especially the preventive system, which is Don Bosco’s method of teaching.
He started teaching as a professional in June of 2015, and earned his License
in September of 2015. He becomes happy when he gets to know his students
and becomes friends with them and he feels disappointed to students, who
do not give importance to studying. When he retires, he wishes to be the
teacher that would be significant to his students when they get successful in
life.
