v. Personalization of Pakistan.Politics: A hurdle on a way to true democracy.

02. Make a precis of the following passage and give it a suitable title:
(At the early stage, the prophetic religions were guided by divine rulings, but at later
stages when divine guidance ceased, religious scholars undertook the task of interpreting
the religious texts according to socio-economic and political conditions)As a result,
human knowledge made divine guidance subordinate to its interpretation)Every new
interpretation claims to be based on the original teachings, but in actuality interpretations
tc..urkept changing with the requirements of time and give new meaning to scriptures and the
sayings of prophets and apostles.
{-(Here can be different interpretations of a text and each one contrary to the other because
they fulfill the needs of different groups in a society. )The new meaning of original
teachings is never accepted universally, but only by those whose interests it serves.{The
survival of a religion which has not lost its vitality depends on its being interpreted
repeatedly with changing times to readjust its teachings to suit different groups, including
the ruling classes.) Many scholars in subcontinent India during British Imperialism
interpreted Islam with a new perspective convincing Indian Muslims to recognize the
new realities and adapt themselves to the changed environment. These scholars adopted a
bold approach and rejected the established and prevalent concepts of religion.
• ~•
(The religion is now interpreted through multidisciplinary approach connecting it with
social sciences humanities and natural sciences.)This new perspective in religious studies
has proven helpful, for it has taken back the long-held traditional interpretation which
lacked scholarly research in its interpretation. This new trend has been witnessed in a
number of countries.

04. Assume one of your friends, who graduated with you in the same engineering discipline,
has ajob offer from two organizations - one being public and the other private. Since you
have always planned on joining a public department upon graduation, now when your
friend sought your advice which offer to finalize you are thinking of convincing him to
accept the offer related to the public organization. Draft a letter persuading your friend by
highlighting the similarities in the two offers and giving reasons for preferring public
organization over private.

05. Translate the following passage into Sindhi/Urdu:

Regressive traditions that support murder in the name of honour are reason
enough for removing punishment waivers and compoundability provisions from the law.
In cases where the state becomes the prosecutor in crimes against women, perpetrators
have been penalized. As a longer-term measure, changing mindsets and men's attitude
towards women's right to make decisions about their lives is critical for a just and
equitable society. When existing legislation fails to stop the murder of young girls and
women because it allows space for archaic interpretations of justice, it is the state's duty
to intervene. Instead of pandering to the conservative right, it must urgently
institutionalize the protection of women on both the legal and social fronts.
