American Power

The artwork is very colorful and alive. It was painted by Tristan Eaton and it is called

“American Power”. It is located in Miami Florida, in the Wynwood walls. Since he was a

teenager, Eaton has been painting substantial scale wall paintings everywhere throughout the

world. His style regularly includes the layering of sensible dark conditioned female countenances

with splendid fun symbolism, for example, vintage comic characters and promoting lettering. In

2014, Eaton took an interest in the Wynwood Walls 2014 program the Art of Collaboration,

contributing a painting mirroring his mark style. There are some prominent principles and

elements in this artwork.

The painting has a diversity of woman who look very serious because there is a

possibility that the artist is against the injustice of them. In the paining, there are different shapes

with organic forms, the focal point which are the faces of woman. The light of the paining helps

the spectators to appreciate the different faces and races all over the paining. The women in the
left looks like an American woman because her tone is light, and her hair is long and blonde. The

next women to her right appears to be African American because the dark tone of her skin. The

women in the middle seems to be Hispanic and the other ones are Arabic and Asians. In addition,

the painting has a repetition of white roundabout lines. There is a recurrence of colors throughout

the mural. The key primary colors are blue and red, but there is also a white color where there is

a horizontal line of white starts in the middle of the painting which look symmetrical. Main

colors are important due to its representation to the American Flag of the United States. The

woman’s eye seems to be looking in the same direction which is at the spectators. There is

rhythm because my eyes move in directional forces throughout the painting.

In conclusion, this piece of art work is amazing. It throws at the spectators many

thoughts, the way the artist used color and shape to bring out beauty within the artwork. This

made me think about the inequality and race problems woman face. Today there is a little more

support towards woman and men that understand that gender doesn’t mean one is weaker. I

belive that no matter what gender a human is we all should treat each other with equality and

support each other.
