Assistant Director

Assist director overseeing backstage crews; run or instruct students in running sound and lights as required; assist
director in the hanging/focusing of lights and during set construction; assist director filling out and submitting
paperwork and maintaining financial records; provide input during show selection and at auditions; regularly attend
rehearsals; help organize parent volunteers

Choreographer
Create dance routines or guide students in creating dance routines for all musical numbers; select and instruct
dance captains to facilitate teaching the cast, at the choreographer's discretion; either teach the routines to the
cast or supervise the dance captains' instruction; attend further rehearsals as needed to clean up routines

Music Director
Provide input to the director during show selection and auditions; teach all songs to ensemble and leads, including
assigning parts and teaching harmonies; attend further rehearsals as needed to assess the cast and reinforce
parts; vocally warm up the cast before rehearsals and performances; in conjunction with the pit orchestra director,
attempt to procure a skilled student accompanist for the rehearsal period and to perform with the pit

Accompanist
Provide accompaniment for auditions and at all rehearsals (as required by the show director); perform with the pit
orchestra, if needed, for all dress rehearsals and performances

Set Designer
Collaborate with the director to create a set design in alignment with the director's vision; oversee the set crew
consisting of students and parent volunteers during construction; skilled and knowledgeable of construction
techniques and safety; supervise set crew during painting of set, assisting as necessary

Costume Mistress
Oversee student costume crew, guiding them in costume design/selection/fitting; collaborate with the director to
create a costume plot appropriate to the show; seek out costumes from the high school's wardrobe, local theater
companies; inquire about professional rentals as needed; find and purchase necessary materials

Pit Orchestra Director
Provide input to the director during show selection, considering the differing instrumentation for different show
versions; select skilled students to perform in the pit; rehearse the pit orchestra independently at the pit director's
discretion to prepare students on all parts; conference with the director/choreographer regularly to determine cuts
and relay that information to the pit; attend all dress rehearsals and performances, conducting the pit and
providing cues to actors; in conjunction with the music director, attempt to procure a skilled student accompanist
for the rehearsal period and to perform with the pit

Production Assistant
Communicates with show director and parents to organize meetings and find volunteers for the various technical
needs of the production; ensures that parent volunteers understand the requirements of each of the following jobs:
set designer, set worker, costumer, and publicity coordinator; oversees parent volunteers in their various
capacities, liaising between them and the show director
