Chonburi Women’s Correctional Institution, the main female facility in the Eastern region of
Thailand, takes up the space of approximately 20 Acres or 80,000 square metres. The space
is divided into:
1. Inner space: 9 Acres approximately
2. Outer space: 10 Acres approximately

Chonburi Women’s Correctional Institution has put forward practices that are incompliance
with the Bangkok Rules and the Mandela Rules

Vocational training and work programmes that create revenue and income for prisoners
1. Contract programme: wire and part assemble
2. Vocational programmes: beauty salon course, laundry course, handicraft course,
sewing course, bakery course
3. On-site vocational programmes:
a. Thai massage and foot massage
b. Coffeeshop
c. Thai fast food and noodle shop
 Prisoners who are dispatched to work onsite will get a monthly dividend of
approximately 2,000 – 4,000 Baht
Prison Products
Chonburi’s highlighted products is the plain-weave pattern accessories, which is a local art
of the people in the region. The pattern is applied to a variety of products such as home
goods and accessories. Currently, the art is being evolved into many other forms, using
various new materials. The products have been showcased at various art fairs and events,
for example, Prison Product Fair, Community Service Fair. Furthermore, Thai Post also
supports the products by displaying and be a reselling the collection at their branches and
events.
