The Entire History of You

Through harshness and darkness, the Earth persevered. Spectacularly and

inspiringly, so did mankind. The evolution of man is extraordinary because not only did our
ancestors survive, they learned how to thrive and how to live. It is amazing to realize that
everything we see around us came from the beginning of the universe, including us. Traces
of the Big Bang are in our environment, our history, and our blood.

The need and vitality of the elements were unprecedented. It’s no wonder that many
scientists and philosophers try their hardest to study these elements and natural sciences
because it is delving deeper into our history. Throughout the evolution of man, many
different patterns of behavior and ways of thinking allowed them to build civilizations. It again
is no wonder that people nowadays want to study social sciences, to further understand why
we act and think the way we do. Our ancestors made hard decisions to thrive, and it inspires
me to learn more and dig deeper into how they truly were. The beauty and mystery of the
evolution of the human mind is something we seek to understand to learn from it. It is crucial
to learn from them so that we learn how to develop, and maybe even avoid making the same
mistakes they did. However, it is sad to say that in our present day, much is to be demanded
from society because of the many many problems we now face, especially environmentally.
One lesson to learn from history is to never underestimate the power of energy. As humans
who utilize energy in our daily lives, it is crucial to learn how to channel and use it properly.
There’s much to learn from our evolution, and so much to realize. The evolution of mankind
from the creation of communication, language, trade, civilization puts into perspective the
effect man has on his society’s timeline and progress.

One of the most humbling realizations that I’ve gained while watching the film was that our
Earth is what sustains humankind. Nature undoubtedly was and still is, the foundation of
human progress and innovation. The iron used to build our bridges was first created in the
formation of the world, and silicon was what our ancestors used as their first technological
evolution, as tools. From a world unrecognizable, it transformed into a world that flourishes
on its own. From the chaos, forces such as gravity allowed the landscape to grow and thrive.
Learning about the start and evolution of the Earth made me realize with a shock that at
present, we are slowly losing the treasures such as the forests, the glaciers, and the wildlife.
Slowly, we are entering a mass extinction because of our irresponsibility and indifference.
Although we progress through technology, infrastructure, and urbanization, we slowly
overlook and take for granted our home and life-giver. It inspired and moved me greatly to
make a difference, to take responsibility, and do more to take care of the Earth. It’s my duty
as a citizen, as simply as a child of Mother Earth.

It is vital to remember one’s duty to one’s home. If the entire history of the earth and
mankind taught us anything, it is that progress comes from discovery and an intelligent and
well thought out way of utilizing it. We must take all the opportunities that are available to us
to learn more about our world and the people in it to learn how to progress further as
mankind. The entire history inspired me in many different ways, including a stronger drive to
have a more active role in this infinite universe that I live in. If my ancestors taught me
anything is that I can make my mark on the Earth and its history, if I persevere and work to.
