Effects of Watching TV for Kids

Television becomes one of the most important devices which takes place in almost houses. It can
unite all family members. However, this is important to know what your kids are watching and of
course that should be done by all parents. Television can expose things you have tried to protect the
children from violence, pornography, consumerism and so on.
Argumen
Recently, a study showed that spending too much time on TV during the day or at bedtime often cause
bed-time disruption, stress, and short sleep duration. The children tends to have problem with their
sleeping.
Besides that some researchers also found that there is a significant relationship between the amount of
time spent for watching television during childhood and early adulthood, and the possibility of being
aggressive.
Meanwhile, many studies that have been conducted indicated the relationship between kids who
watch TV a lot and being inactive and overweight.

Considering some facts mentioning above, the parents can protect your children by limiting television
viewing to one-two hours each day, not allowing the children to have a TV set in their own bedrooms
and review the rating of TV shows which your children watch and sometimes watching television
with children and discuss what is happening in the show

THESIS : In the past, I have never been inclined to participate in sports. Honestly, I didn’t like it, but
many persons whom I lived with kept telling me everyday how good it was. Since the peer pressure
was growing, I decided to go to the gym. It wasn’t until then that I could really understand people
when they said exercise really helped a person get organized and keep yourself in a healthy
physically and mentally.

ARGUMENT 1 : For starters, when you are a lazy person, it is difficult to take the first step, but it is
all a matter of committing yourself to something that will provide you a lot of positive
feedback. Once you start doing exercise and observing positive results, you actually enjoy it. It
takes a lot of effort and strong will, but it's worth it. The principal thing to do is to participate in an
activity you like. If you do you’ll start organizing your day in a way that enables you to do everything
you have to, including exercising. You will no longer be a person stressed-out without time to carry
on with all your activities.

ARGUMENT 2: Second, it is obvious that once you exercise you will have a better condition.
You will be healthier in a physical way. It is probable that you will lose weight and your muscles will
get stronger and stronger. Your body will feel good, full of energy and it will respond immediately to
any action you want to do, any activity that has to be done with high spirits.

ARGUMENT 3: The third reason why exercising is good is that it affects you positively in a
mental and psychological way. Doing exercise helps you set specific goals which along with strong
will can be achieved. When you do that, you are aware of your abilities, accept your
weaknesses, and your self-esteem goes up. Any sport distracts you because it helps you not to think
about school, friends, problems, among other things. It brings you time to think about yourself and no
one else. It helps you keep your mind busy and to avoid dangerous habits like drugs.

RECOMMENDATION : Doing exercise is very important to any person of any age. The positive
effects of exercising, which I’ve already mentioned, are like a chain. Once you do a sports
activity that you like, you get organized; therefore, you start doing things the right way and get
enormous benefits which make you feel good as a whole human being. You start living your
life happily.

THESIS : Indonesia is a culturally-diverse country. Many different religions and cultures from many
provinces are now seen living side by side in many places. One of the biggest questions facing
Indonesian today is how to deal with a culturally diverse citizenry and then promote unity.

ARGUMENT 1 : Therefore, Indonesians should appreciate differences among culture for the
following reasons. Firstly, Indonesia is vulnerable to separation for its archipelago and culture
diversity. Raising tolerance among people is the best way to maintain the unity among differences.
Many ways or cultures of living are equally legal, even if they are not regarded as normal by some
people. If a society claims to be tolerant of personal choice, then it must respect the personal choice to
retain their heritage. Then, unity of the nation can be preserved.

ARGUMENT 2 : Secondly, Indonesians must recognize that every culture has different customs and
beliefs. Thus, people are forbidden to make judgments of comparative value, for it is measuring
something unmeasured. A plurality of nations, especially in the modern era, can allow for cultural
development and cultural exchange that benefits both parties. The cross-cultural understanding among
cultures makes the world a better place and preserves the unity of the nation.

ARGUMENT 3 : Lastly, raising nationalism is one way to preserve unity of the nation. It is a sense
of fellow feeling between group members. This promotes cooperation and social cohesion within the
group. The sense of social cooperation makes welfare, social security and medical programs much
more likely and stronger.

RECOMMENDATION : Cultural differences are sometime a sensitive matter for people.


Indonesian people must teach younger generation about the importance of the cultural identity and
nationalism to promote unity of the nation.
