ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN FASHION INDUSTRY

“Artificial Intelligence” as a concept was first conceived in 1956 (Lewis, 2014) Since then, the development and impact of this
technology in several fields has been unstoppable. The aim of this poster is to present how this innovation has impacted two
relevant aspects of the fashion industry: eCommerce and design.

What AI can do?

■ It can be a powerful tool to reduce the environmental impact. (Rabe, 2019; De Freitas, 2018)

What should we consider?

■ AI is in conflict with morality and ethics.(Wang, 2014)
● The legality of private data collection
● Security of user privacy

■ It’s capability to creative thinking is questionable

● Only people can be creative, and artificial algorithms can only be programmed to perform specific tasks.
● The creativity of ai is limited to database

■ Potential problems
● Mass unemployment
● Talent differentiation and wealth gap
● It is difficult to objectively quantify the supervisor's aesthetics

Lessons
AI is just a technology that serves humanity, that's for sure. Therefore, I believe AI will definitely serve human beings better and create more
value. (Yin, 2019)
