INTRODUCTION

Grooming nowadays has an important role in ones' appearance. Styling and hairdressing
for men are trend nowadays. The shop that offers the kind of business/services is called
"barbershop"

Barbering services were invented by Egyptian nobility from 5000 BC. The tools were
crude and made of flint or oyster shells. Barbering and hairdressing offers personal care and
services. Labor in the industry is specialized in different title as well, such as barber, hairdresser.
Hairstylist, hair color is the and hair designer. Barber is the person who cuts men hair, shaves or
Trims beards as an occupation.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The barbershop was built on January 29, 2017. The owner of the barber shop is Rudy
Cadis. The barber shop was named “Gupit Maginoo” by Mrs. Marie Cadis, the owner’s Wife.
There were three barbers hired by the owner but due to some issues the barbers became only two.
It is located at 637 CRM AVE., Goodyear Park Subd, Almanza Uno, and Las Piñas City.

ALTERNATIVES

In business recording of activities and income is needed to know the flow of operation of
the business .Gupit Maginoo as being a small barbershop, their method of recording income and
expense is through the use of Logbook.

SOLUTION

We see that the use of logbook is not enough for Gupit Maginoo Barbershop. They are
not the typical barbershop that we perceived. Even it is just a small barbershop they have a huge
number of customers every day. And that makes the use of logbook inconvenient for them to
use. Aside from it, filing of records can be a problem for them when they try to compare their
previous records to the current transactions. We suggest a system for them to record the daily
activities in terms of their services rendered the expenses and the computation of the employees’
salary.

First worksheet is for the dashboard, it helps you to easily visit the other worksheets and encode
the data.

 Click GM Barbershop to see the background information of the business. It

includes a brief history of the barbershop and where it is located. Also includes
documents and requirements needed to perform the business.
 Click Services Offered to see the services offered by GM Barbershop and the
prices of each services
 Click Service Income to evaluate the services rendered by the two employees.
Each of them has their own worksheet to know their performance.
 Click Expenses to know the monthly expenses of GM Barbershop.
 Click Payroll to recognize the weekly pay-out of the employees. And their
contributions in SSS, Pag-IBIG, and PhilHealth. Same as the Payslip worksheet.
 And lastly, Click Income Statement to know how much income accumulated
for the month of November 2019.
2. BUSINESS DETAILS

 Here, you will read the information about the business. It includes a brief
history of the barbershop and where it is located. Also includes documents
and requirements needed to perform the business.

3. Service Offered
  This sheet shows the services offered by the Gupit Maginoo Barbershop. It
contains the different services and prices.

 Gupit Maginoo Services is divided into three categories first is the

Haircut and shaving services which offers regular haircut, Flat top, Crew cut, Head
shave, and shave. Second the hairdressing services that offers Hair Dye- Powder and
Hair Dye- Cream. And lastly the Massage Services it has Half body Massage, Whole
body Massage, and Scalp massage.

4. SERVICES RENDERED BY EMPLOYEES

 In this sheet shows the Services Rendered by Employees. There is a worksheet
provided per employee since there are only two employees.
 It contains the Name of Employee, Service Income, Gross pay and Total.

 Name of Employee. To know the performance of every employee

per month.
 Service Income. All of the income from the daily services
rendered.
 Gross Pay- it represents the total amount of compensation per
week per employees.
 Total (bottom). It is the total no. of services performed and
income earned every service for the month.
  It also implies all the services and their designated prices per column. Under each
services there are two columns provided :

 No. of services rendered. This refers to the number of the said

service performed per day.

 Total. It is the income from the daily service rendered.

5. EXPENSES

This worksheet contains the monthly expenses of GM Barbershop.

 Supplies Expense- It includes the sampaguita and the tissue serves as necessity in
the shop. Mostly used in performing haircut and shaving services.
 Utilities Expense-It is the cost incurred using the utilities in shop such as
electricity, and water.
 Rent Expense- is the monthly expense for the space used in performing the
services.
 Total Expense- it is the average of all the expense accounts of the month.

6. PAYROLL FOR THE MONTH

It reflects the weekly payroll for the month. It contains the Name, Position, Gross pay, SSS
Contribution, PhilHealth Contribution, Pag IBIG Contribution, Cash Advance and Net Pay.

 Name and Position. These information is for references.

 Gross pay. This comes from the services rendered by the employees.
Rule: GM Barbershop as an agreement between employees if they exceed 10
services rendered of regular haircut their total compensation per day is the 45%
 of the total service income. In the other hand, if they not reach the 10 regular
haircut as the quota of the daily services, they will only be paid for 250 pesos.
 SSS Contribution. This contribution is deducted from the gross pay of the
employees weekly.
 PhilHealth, PagIBIG Contribution. These contributions are deducted against
the gross pay monthly.
 Cash Advance. It is the temporary loan of the shop to their employee.
 Net pay. This is the amount consider as the salaries of the employees per week
after deducting the contributions and cash advances from the gross pay.

7. PAYSLIP FOR THE MONTH

  This sheet contains the data from the weekly payroll, the data is also used
to create weekly payslip of the two employees

8. INCOME STATEMENT
  The content of this sheet is the income statement for the month
(November) which shows the total income less the total expense resulting
to the net income of the month.
 It also includes the graphs and charts which represents the most profitable
service for the month , performance of the employees, and the total
income and total expense.

9.RECOMMENDATION

Aside from the method of recording of activities, GM Barbershop also experiencing

problem in terms of hiring of employees. we recommend that they should consider to have
training days for 2-5 days to evaluate the attitude and credibility of the applicants before they
hire them. Owner can give the applicants allowances for food and transportation during the
training days.

And in case they do not want to use technology in recording of their business activities.
we suggest that they can hire another employee or a receptionist to do the recording of activies
and monitor the flow of the business.
