"Croatian language - This is a free open online course designed for those who want to learn the
A1.HR" Croatian language at the level of A1. It consists of 80 units. Learning and
practicing each unit takes approximately 45 minutes. This course was developed by:

 Unit 4

 This unit covers Croatian letters and phonemes, question form of the
present tense of the verb to be and negations. Users can repeat everyday
phrases that Croatian people use when they get to know each other. They
can learn some very common nouns, the typical Croatian names and the
names of Croatian cities.

In this unit users can learn nominative singular and plural forms of typical
masculine, feminine and neuter nouns. Users can learn the terms typical for
the Croatian culture.

 In this unit you will learn internationalisms, demonstrative pronouns, as

well as the gender and plural of the most common internationalisms.

 In this unit you will revise the a rmative, negative and interrogative
present tense of the verb biti (to be), the gender and number of the nouns
from units 4 and 5 + non-prototypical nouns > you learned in units 4 and 5
as well as some non-typical nouns, e.g. ljudi (people), braća (brothers), tata
(dad).

and you will learn sibilarisation.

In this unit you will learn the present tense of common verbs ending in –ati:
spavati (to sleep), hodati (to walk), pjevati (to sing), razgovarati (to chat, to
converse), and adverbs of manner, time and place: polako (slowly), brzo
(quickly), sada (now), ovdje (here), etc.
