Thesis Title

Harnessing Electrical Energy through Water Faucet Pressure

Used as an Emergency Power System

Background of the Study

Wasted energy is inevitable in Earth. Wasted energy is an energy which is converted

without suggestive use. According to World Energy Council that the rate of improvements
towards cleaner energy is far slower than required to meet emissions targets (WEC,2016). It is
clearly that the wasted energy is not well-known from this day, that is why it is called wasted
energy. As a researcher, Wasted energy can no longer be wasted.

Pressure energy is also one of the major wasted energy in the World. In this study, the
main focus of the researchers is the pressure energy from the faucet which is 40-80 pounds per
square inch(psi) (ConservationMart,2014) The researchers use the collected energy to an
emergency power system in a bathroom or kitchen place during power cut-off. The researchers'
aims to develop and synthesized energy from pressure to electrical energy to used as an
emergency power.

Objectives of the Study

To collect waste energy from water faucet pressure.

To generate power by the means of wasted energy from the pressure of water faucet.
To supply alternative source of energy during emergency or needing hours.

Scope and Delimiations

This research project aims to provide alternative source of energy by collecting wasted
energy from the pressure of a standard water faucet. This project can supply dimunitive voltage
and wattage for emergency used only. It can be done by a generator to produce pressure energy
to electrical energy that will collected by a common power bank.

Justification of the Study

Water pressure is always present in the nature. Pressure energy can be transformed into
electrical energy by the use of turbine to generate electricity. a Norwegian company that
produces hydrogenerators has created a device that harvests the excess pressure from water
running through municipal water plants to run a turbine and create electricity. The company's
current turbine can generate up to 80 kilowatts up to 300 kilowatts of power that is enough to run
their machineries and appliances (Kanellos,2010) This study will use a pressure energy to utilize
electrical energy to make a potent source of power.
