Topic: Step by Step Approach in
Designing a Green Hotel & Hospital

Mr. Ashish Rakheja is Managing Partner at AEON Consultants and has a post graduate degree in Thermal
Engineering from IIT Delhi with over twenty five years of work experience. He is a seasoned Consulting
Engineer who has designed over 2000 projects including Hotels, Airports, Hospitals, Retail, Residential,
Commercial , High rises and Industrial projects.
Mr Rakheja specializesin high-performance buildings and has been actively involved in leading design
activities of electro-mechanical services for four Net Zero Energy Buildings and over forty Platinum rated
green projects in India.
He is spearheading the green building movement in India in capacity of role as Chairman, Technical
Committee of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and certified Trainer.
Mr Rakheja has won many awards and delivered over 1000 talks on various facets of building design
across the world. He is an active member of over 20 Technical societies and regularly contributes his time
on writing Standards, codes & position papers for Government bodies & Technical societies. He is involved
in imparting training to budding Architects in the field of Building Services and a visiting faculty at leading
schools in India.
Mr. Ashish Rakheja along with a team of dynamic sustainability experts and engineers shared a dream of
Vikalp, which is an alternate approach to design by moving away from age old practices. Their mantra of

He is Partner of PDA Consultants (MEP & Green Building Consultants). He is an Electrical & Electronics
Engineering Graduate of 1994 batch and thereafter obtained his diploma in Management (MBA) from Institute of
Management Technology, Ghaziabad. He has been working for over two and a half decades in the field of
projects and has vast exposure to various kinds of projects including Hotels, Institutional premises, Residential,
Industries, Educational Institutes, Pharmaceutical units etc. During the course of his career Rajnish has served in
some good project oriented organisations like Chicago Pneumatic (Atlas Copco), Otis Elevators and Hitachi
Aircon.
Having designed and executed projects with services including entire MEP Services and low voltage services
including BMS, Automation, Lighting control, Fire Alarm / Fire Suppression Systems, Security etc. Rajnish has a
valuable experience to share with his colleagues and associates. Besides being involved in professional services
Rajnish has been an active member and volunteer leader for a number of associations working in the field of

Mr. Gaurav Vasudev is RD North-1 at ISHRAE. He is a Mechanical Engineer with specialisation in production
engineering. Working as a ventilation engineer in HVAC industry since1999. Started carrier in Middle east in
1999, in ventilation Industry as sales & marketing engineer. Came back to India in year 2005 & started serving
Indian Ventilation market.
During these years have introduced many new concepts & products in Indian ventilation industry.
Expertise are domestic, commercial, Industrial & infrastructure (tunnels) ventilation system product design &
supply.
At present working to introduce the specialized simulation services in the fire & smoke ventilation, which is
widely acceptable in other countries but not so far in India. IEQ has been another area of focus to improve the
Indoor Environment Quality.The goal is to offer product & services for Healthy, energy efficient, fire & life safe
modern buildings for the occupants.

engaged in executing HVAC projects. A HVAC professional par excellence, Mr. K.D. Singh is well trained
in commissioning for over 20 years. He is also a expert in design and installation of HVAC system, and
has a number of award winning and LEED certified projects to his credit. He is B.Tech (Mechanical)
from National Institute of Technology, Warangal. Also MBA (Marketing) from college of Business
Management, Chandigarh.
