University of Delhi Admission to Undergraduate Courses

Based on Entrance Exam 2016-17


The University of Delhi is one of the top Universities in India providing education to all the eligible Indian
Nationals and overseas Residents
All the candidates seeking admission to those Undergraduate (UG) Courses where admission is based
only on Entrance Examination are required to register online
The University offers a majority of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Course options for students to
choose form. Some of the major courses offered by the University are BMS, BA, B.Tech, BA (Hons),
B.El.Ed, B.Sc (P.E., H.E & S) and B.A (Hons) Multimedia and Mass Communication
Important Dates
 Start Date for Online Registration: 13th May 2016
 Closing Date for Online Registration: 31st May 2016
 Dates for the conduct of the Entrance Exam: 19th - 23rd June 2016
 Announcement of Results of Entrance Exams: On or before 04th July 2016

Eligibility Conditions for Joint Admission Test (JAT):
The General Category candidate should have an aggregate of at least 60% (class XII) in four papers
including English, Mathematics and other two subjects from the list of elective subjects as approved by
the University of Delhi
Candidate should have obtained pass marks in each of the four papers considered for computing the
aggregate
Candidate must produce the confirmed result and marksheet of the qualifying exam on the day of the
Group Discussion & Personal Interview to be eligible for admission in BMS/BBA (FIA)/ B.A (Hons)
Business Economics Programs
Candidates who do not have confirmed marksheet will not be entertained under any circumstances
Foreign Students seeking admission to BMS/BBA (FIA)/B.A (Hons) Business Economics Courses against
the prescribed quota of seats earmarked for them shall have to apply through the Foreign Students
Advisor as per the University of Delhi rules
Cluster Innovation Centre
a) B.Tech Information Technology and Mathematical Innovations (IT&M) [40 Seats]
Eligibility: 10+2 examination with Mathematics (Those who have appeared may also apply)
Marks Requirement: General category: 60 % in four subjects (including mathematics); OBC category:
54% in four subjects (including mathematics); PwD/ CW category: 57% in four subjects (including
Mathematics); and SC/ST category: Passing marks with Mathematics
b) B.A. (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences [40 Seats]
Eligibility: 10 + 2 examination (Those who have appeared may also apply)
Marks Requirement: General category: 60 % in four subjects; OBC category: 54% in four subjects; PwD/
CW category: 57% in four subjects and SC/ST category: Passing marks
Central Institute of Education
a) B.El Ed (Bachelors of Elementary Education)
Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed.) Program must have
passed the Class XII exam of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any other Board
recognized as equivalent to the CBSE
Eligibility:Candidates seeking admission to B.El.Ed Program should have cleared the higher secondary
exam or any other exam recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum aggregate of 50 % marks

Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education


Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports: B.Sc (P.E.,H.E. & S.)
Eligibility Criteria: Candidate seeking admission to B.Sc (PE, HE &Sports) Sem.-I course must have passed
Class (10+2) Exam of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or an exam recognized as
equivalent there to with at least 45% marks in the aggregate (The aggregate marks will be determined
on the basis of one language and three best subjects)
In B.Sc (PE, HE &Sports) 5% seats will be reserved for those students who have studied and secured
more than 60% marks in Physical Education in Senior Secondary Exam
Reservations
Reservation of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) to the
prescribed extent shall apply in compliance with the rules notified by the University and is provided in
Annexure-I
Centres for the Entrance Exam
Entrance examination shall be conducted at the Centres located in the following cities - Bengaluru, Delhi,
Jammu, Kolkata, Nagpur and Varanasi

of Information
There is a common Web Portal for the centralized registration of candidates and a common registration
form for admission to the listed Undergraduate Courses in the University. Online registration details are
available on the following UG admission portal http://admission.du.ac.in/ugent16/
Registration Fee
 Registration Fee (non-refundable) for the entrance examination is the following:
 For SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Rs.250/-
 For all other categories (Unreserved, OBC etc) - Rs. 500/-
 Registration Fee has to be paid during online registration process through one of the available
online payment options
