History of Tampuhan Elementary School

Tampuhan Elementary School is one of the 31 complete elementary schools of


Libmanan North District. It has a total land area of 9,500 square meters. It is located along
the riverside, 15 kilometers west of the town proper and 54 kilometers away from the
division office. With the improvement of farm-to-market road, aside from the old means
of transportation which is jeepney or bus via national highway and banca and motorboat
crossing the river, the school now can be reached through light vehicles like tricycle and
motorcycle or habal-habal as the local folks would call it.

Tampuhan Elementary School (formerly Tampuhan Community School) was


opened in 1989 as a community school having only two grade levels and started with two
kubo as classrooms with Mrs. Delia Nonsol as the first teacher.
In 1991, Mr. Armando Marco replaced Mrs. Nonsol who was transferred to another
school.
Year 1992-1995 when the school was managed by Ms. Elnora Talay as Teacher-
In-Charge together with Ms. Evelyn Talay as the additional teacher offering grades one
to four.
From 1996-2006, there were only two teachers handling combination classes and
was headed by a TIC.
SY 2007-2009, additional teacher was deployed at Tampuhan Elementary School
but still a community school with only four grade level.
Tampuhan Elementary School became a complete multi grade elementary school
in 2009 with four teachers and four classrooms under the leadership of Mrs. Jocelyn G.
Ibarra as the Teacher-In-Charge. Its first graduation was held in 2010 with ten pioneering
graduates.
Year 2013 was a milestone in Tampuhan Elementary School when two additional
classrooms were constructed and three additional teachers were deployed with the late
Mr. Ronnel P. Ravanilla as the TIC.
In 2016, Mr. Richard A. Canas, an alumnus of Tampuhan Elementary School
became the new Teacher-In-Charge. During his leadership, the school garnered 3rd place
in the Division Search for Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) Best Implementers and
Champion in the Division, Regional winner and NSPC qualifier in the Search for Best
School Paper-Elementary (Kalampag) in 2017.
At present, the school has seven regular permanent teachers being managed by
a Teacher-In-Charge serving more than a hundred learners with more improved facilities
and learning environment.
From its humble beginning as multi-grade and community school before,
Tampuhan Elementary School continuously improves itself to serve the best interest of
its clientele.
