ACTIVITY 2
The Nature & Relationship of Theory and Practice

Direction: Choose a topic related to your field of specialization. Extend the table above by
thinking of specific learning activities that would apply the following theories and
principles of transfer.

TOPIC: history ( The voyage of Magellan)

Implication Specific Learning Activity/ Strategy

1. Involve students in learning situations A. Conduct a motivational activity

a big circle sharing all thier new knowledge
connecting it to thier perceptions and ideas
before they watch the video.
The teachers should be at the center to manage
the ideas of his students.
3. To ensure transfer, teach a few topics
in depth rather than many topics tackled
in a shallow manner.
4. Illustrate new concepts and principles
with a variety of examples. Plan activities
that allow your learners to practice their
newly learned skills.
5. Relate topic in one subject to topics in
other subjects or disciplines. Relate it also
to real life situations.
6. Encourage students to take responsibly
for their own learning and to reflect on
what they learned.
C. Practical activity
The student will engage in an activity applying
thier knowledge to the given topic.
They will perform several task such as: drama ,
poem , and a debate on the voyage of Magellan.
D. Interactive class discussion.
1.The teacher will conduct a collaboarative
discussion
2.And conduct an evaluation activity on how they
apply thier learning on the given topic. Such as on
how they apply the spirit of patriotism and
natialism.
E. Open discussion/ realization
1. The teacher will ask what is the main idea of
thier lesson.
2. Through the assistance of the teacher. The
teacher will gather all the ideas and set a general
idea or a theme.
3. The theme will be the topic for the open
discussion. ( Through the discussion the students
can discuss thier idea theoug values or even in
real life situation.
F. Conclusion
1. The teacher should motivate his students to
apply on what they learned.
2. Since the lesson was all about patriotism and
nationalism. The teacher may give an exam all
about real life situation showing the implications
of thier lessons.
