CONTEXT : Learning is an active process. Students are not able to learn much by only
sitting in classes listening to teachers, memorizing pre-packaged assignments, and
churning out answers. They must be able to talk about what they are learning, write
about it, relate it to past experiences, and apply it to their daily lives. Thus, students
need to make learning a part of themselves, Gabennesch, H. (1992).
The Science and Math Departments of Magdum National High School would
like to conduct a culminating activity that would enhance the students’ talents and
skills as way of allowing them to be involved in an active learning.
The theme of this year is “Science and Mathematics for the People,
Innovation for Collective Prosperity.”

EXPECTATIONS/OBJECTIVES:
The general objective of this activity is to promote academic excellence in Science and
Mathematics and create camaraderie and sportsmanship among students.
The specific objectives are to:
1. motivate the students to further develop their interest in Science and Mathematics;
2. enhance the knowledge of students through Science and Mathematics Quiz;
3. provide the students the opportunities to meet each other through friendly competitions;
and
4. apply the principles in Science and Mathematics.
