WHEREAS, one of the 10-point agenda for Development in the City of Valenzuela is put
the welfare of the City and its people above all else;

improve and make better the lives of the urban poor of the city;

WHEREAS, the Government intends to pursue an accelerated plan for the upgrading
ano oeveiopment of the urban poor in terms of provioing reseniement sites ancj housing units
conducive to family and community building;

WHEREAS, the office tasked to handle the affairs of the urban poor of the City is the
Urban Poor Affairs Office;

ryHEREAS, the name "lJrban Poor Affairs office" only signifies matters concerning
the simole affairs of the urban ooor, without a clear and comorehensive olan for their
improvement and development;

UHEREAS, it is more apt to name the above-mentioned office as the Housing and

NOW, THEREFORE be it ORDAINED as it is hereby ORDAINED by the Sangguniang

Panlungsod of Valenzuela, in session duly assembled that:

SECTION L The name Urban Poor Affairs Office (UPAO) is hereby changed to
Housing and Resettlement Office (HRO);

SECTION 2. The functions of the Housing and Resettlement Office as provided in

Executive Order 2005-011 shall still be exercised by the said office;

thereby, shallcontinue to be in fullforce and effect.

SECTION 4. REPEAUNG CITUSE -

Except as otherwise provided n.r.in, .F-
Executive orders, Administrative Regulations, city ordinances, city Resolutions, Barangay I
Ordinances and Barangay Resolutions, which are inconsistent with and contradictory to any of

the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
SECTION 5. EFFECTIVIfY- This Ordinance shalltake effect immediately upon its
approval.
