HARDSCAPE SPECIFICATION

1.0 THE WORKS

1.1 Scope of Works

This specification covers materials and workmanship for all hard landscape works

The contractor shall refer to Engineers Specification for clauses relating to


formation levels, sub-bases, concrete footings, foundations and all associated
M&E and C&S works.

1.2 Notice of Intention

The contractor shall give 48 hours notice to the Landscape Architect (LA) of his
intention to start any of the following operations in order to obtain approval from the
Landscape Architect (LA).

i) Achieving formation levels for paving.

ii) Setting out areas of kerbs, edge restraints/paving/step/walls/handrails/street


funiture and associated works.

iii) Laying sample areas of surface finishes, grass cell/grass paver and
construction of sample panels for handrails.

iv) Laying kerbs edge restrains, laying and cutting of paving units.

v) Manufacture of sample pre-cast units, laying and cutting pre-cast concrete


units.

vi) Installation of handrails, street furniture, drainage furniture and manhole


covers.

vii) Undertaking maintenance visits.

viii) Delivery and storage of all materials to site.

1.3 Submittals

The Contractor shall:

I) Submit for review shop drawings completely dimensioned, indicating any


pattern layouts, special installation procedures, cutting, fitting, sinking and
adjacent equipment materials for coordination.

II) Submit for approval samples of all materials and samples of workmanship.

The main contractors’ specialists’ sub-contractors supplier will be responsible for


producing and submitting for comment and approval to the Employer’s
representative the shop drawings and sample of all elements indicated in this
section. All should be based on schematic drawings provided within the tender
package. All submissions should be reviewed, approved and endorsed by the main

contractor’s specialist subcontractor’s consultant team. The approval shall have
the stamp or seal and signature of a professional consultant registered with the
relevant professional bodies in Malaysia.

For more technical information reference should be made to the landscape


specification and tender drawings, and relevant specification produced by other
consultants.

1.4 Handling,Storage and Delivery

The contract shall:

I) Coordinate delivery with supplier, to minimize handling.

II) Handle and store equipment and materials in such a manner that no
damage will be done to the materials or the work of other trades.

III) Store packaged materials undamaged in their original wrappings, or


containers with manufacturer’s labels and seals intact.

IV) Stack equipment, materials on wooden platforms at least 150mm clear of


the ground and protect with weatherproof covers.

V) Damaged equipment, material or works will be rejected by the Employer’s


representative whether built-in or not.

VI) For equipment, materials and work, covering shall be of suitable material
containing nothing that may injure of stain the materials.

1.5 Reference Standards

Where there is in existence a relevant Malaysian Standard , ASTM, British Standard


code of practice, Draft BS or DIN standard applicable to elements indicated in this
section. The recommendations and requirements of such documents shall be
considered a minimum standard of such work described and must be complied with.

This shall not relieve that Contractor of his responsibility for providing a higher
standard than the relevant code or standard where it is required to comply with other
sections of the specification.

2.0 PAVING

2.1 Performance based specification

the following is a Performance based specification which relates to the supply and
laying of all hardscape. With particular regard to Concrete Block Paving and
Exposed aggregate Works.

2.1.1 Methodology and Sequence of Work

The Contractor shall not commence any Hardscape work, with regard to laying of
concrete Blocks and exposed aggregate pavement/Shanghai plaster until the
following have been completed:

- All inground drainage completed.

- All kerb edge restraints completed.

- All other inground services laid and complete

- All areas surveyed and string lines set to establish the final finished level.

- Any pre-existing manhole covers or drainage covers adjusted and raised or


lowered to Conform with the final finished pavement level.

The Contractor shall submit a full methodology, setting out his proposed sequence of
workand trade before commencing Operation.

2.1.2 Setting Out

The contractor shall achieve the formation levels required for paving as indicated in
the contract drawings.

The line and levels of the paved areas shall be carefully set out in accordance with
the Contract Drawings and be frequently checked by Contractor, care being
taken ensure that correct gradients and cross falls are achieved. The finished
gradients of all pavements shall be formed so as to provide adequate falls for drainage
as shown on the contract Drawings.

2.1.3 Storage

Paving materials shall be stored in a place on-site, as agreed with the Landscape
Architect. Supply to site shall be timed to minimise the required storage period for all
materials. Method of storage shall avoid damage to all materials. Damaged units
shall be replaced by the contractor at his expense. Due care should be taken to handle
all units in a manner that will keep the risk of strain and deformation to a Minimum.

2.1.4 Cutting

All paving materials requiring cutting shall be cut using a diamond blade bench saw
to give an acceptable quality edge to the satisfaction of the Landscape Architect
entirely at the cutting must be replaced to the approval of the Landscape Architect
entirely at the contracts expense.

The Contractor must allow for the periodic replacement of blades in cutting
equipment to ensure clean cut edges to paving units.

2.1.5 Trip Hazard

Trip hazard is defined as any deviation in the pavement by + 10mm, including failure
to adapt the finished levels to any pre-existing manhole cover or grating. The
Contractor shall, therefore, carefully survey all areas to be paved, prior to
commencing work. Refer To clause 2.1.8. On completion of the works, the completed
Hardscape shall be carefully Inspected for any Trip Hazards and these shall be
rectified entirely at the Contractor’s cost.

2.1.6 Construction in Inclement Weather

All newly laid paving shall be protected against the harmful effects of weather untill
such a Time as the work is completed to the approval of the Landscape Architect.
Areas of paving Damaged by inclement weather prior to completion shall be replaced
entirely at the Contractor’s expense.

2.1.7 Sample Areas

The contractor shall lay a 2.0 x 2.0 metre sample section of each paving type
together with edge restraints and drainage furniture an obtain the approval of the
Landscape Architect before proceeding with laying of each of the paving types.
The size, unless outlined in this specification, and location of the sample area shall
be agreed with the Landscape Architect. Sample panels may be incorporated into
the completed works by prior agreement with the Landscape Architect.

2.1.8 Finished Levels of all Hardscape Surfaces

The finished level of the Hardscape surfaces are shown on the General Arrangement
drawings. However, these are indicative only and the Contractor shall always extend
a string line between edge restrains to establish smooth flowing gradients. The
Contractor shall allow for in his rates the readjustments, raising, or lowering of any
pre-existing manhole (of any type) that may be required in order to achieve the
finished level of the Hardscape areas, to match a pre-existing manhole, cover, or
grating, provided prior consent is given by the Landscape Architect.

2.1.9 Finishing Work against all items of Street Furniture, Lighting Poles, Manhole and
Drainage Covers

The Contractor shall extend his Hardscape finishes right up to the edge of all items of
street furniture, lighting poles, Manhole and Drainage Covers. Cement mortar filler

pieces in excess of 10mm wide shall be rejected and the contractor shall make all
efforts to ensure a neat, crisp and seamless joint.

2.1.10 Protection of the Completed Work

the contractor shall protect and barricade of all areas of completed hardscape upon
completion, until Handover to the Client. The Contractor shall be responsible for
ensuring that the works are handed over in a clean and tidy condition, and any
staining in the completed hardscape will be rejected.

2.2 Concrete Pavers

All concrete pavers shall be supplied by approved supplier upon submission of the
samples to L.A and Client’s respresentative .

2.2.1 General

The Contractor shall refer to the Engineers Specification for sub-bases. Concrete
paving blocks shall comply with B.S 6717:1993 and MS 1380:1995 with compression
strength of 45MPa. Concrete block dimensions are indicated in the Contract
Drawings .

Samples for all blocks shall be submitted to the Construction Manager for approval.
The contractor shall allow for offering new samples if the previous samples are
rejected

2.3.1 Concrete Pavers

Concrete pavers shall be 200 x 200 x 80mm. Concrete blocks colour: grey unless
otherwise indicated .

2.3.2 Sand Bedding

Where paving blocks are indicated in the Contract Drawings to be bedded on sand
(flexible paving ) this material shall be naturally occurring sand or shall consist of
crushed rock or gravel or a combination thereof with naturally occurring sand , hard ,
clean free from all adherent coatings . It shall comply in all respects with BS 1200
(1976) and be well graded down from 5mm .

The moisture content of the laying course should be as uniform as possible and at or
about its optimum . Where material is to be stockpiled it should be covered .

The laying course should be such that, after compaction, it forms a nominally uniform
layer, 50 mm thick, bellow the pavers. It shall be laid in accordance with either of the
following alternative methods:-

I) The material should be spread loose in a uniform layer and screeded to a
thickness requires to give nominal 50mm layer after completion of the paving.

Or

I) The material should be spread in a loose, uncompacted layer to approximately


2/3 of the required final thickness.This layer should be lightly compackted by
means of a vibrating plated compactor.A further layer loose material should
be spread and screeded to create a loose surface on to which the units can be
placed.

Care should be taken to avoid localised disturbance of the prepared laying course
sand by pedestrian or wheeled traffic prior to placing unit. The are of laying course
prepared should be such that the position of its boundary is not more than one metre
from the position of the laying face at the end of the working period wherever
practicable.

2.3.4 Joints in Flexible Paving

Joints are to be 2mm when placed hand-tight. Pavers shall be laid working from an
existing laying face edge or edge restraint. Full pavers should be laid first; closure
units should then be laid. The area to be laid should be completed as far as is
possible in entire paver units.Wherever possible, infilling to boundaries and
obstructions should proceed as the laying of the surface course proceeds and
infilling should be completed before compaction commences. Mechanical force shall
not be used to obtain tight joints.

For flexible paving sand shall be brushed into the joints until they are filled to the top
surface of the paving blocks.Sand for joint filling should be dry with a minimum
particle size no greater than 1.18mm containing about 10% by weight passing a
0.75mm sieve.Sand colour shall be agreed with Construction Manager prior to
brushing into joints.

The Contractor shall allow for cutting units to achieve laying to curves (without
opening up joints).

2.3.5 Laying Pavers

The units shall be laid to the patterns shown on the Contract Drawings. Special paver

Shapes designed to assist with the formation of boundaries and with changes in
direction may be incorporated with the approval of the Construction Manager.

2.3.6 Cutting Pavers

Paving blocks requiring cutting shall be cut using a diamond blade bench saw to give
an acceptable quality edge to the satisfaction of the la and prior to general cutting
taking place on site.

Pavers shall be cut to form, neat junctions/boundaries with other paving


materials/kerbs, street furniture, etc. Fillets of colour matched mortar in lieu of small
pieces of unit paving shall be avoided where possible and only be used with the
approval of the Construction Manager.

Paving blocks showing a jagged or irregular edge will be rejected by the LA and must
be replaced to the satisfaction of the LA all at the Contractors expense.

2.3.6 Cutting Pavers

Care shall be taken to avoid placing more than one cut kerb and /or paver unit in
close proximity to another cut unit at junctions/changes of direction of paving.

The Contrctor must allow for the periodic replacement of blades in cutting equipment
to ensure clean cut edges to paving units.

2.3.7 Mixing Pavers

Where there is a colour variation between batches of pavers the Contractor is to


ensure that pavers are mixed to avoid patterning in paved areas and this shall be to
the approval of the LA. Where patterning occurs the Contractor shall lift, mix and
relay the pavers to the Construction Manager’s approval.

2.3.8 Compaction of Flexible Paving

Pavers on sand bed shall be subjected to passes of a steel-faced vibrating-plate


compactor to adequately compact the laying course and to bed and regulate the
paving blocks. The vibrating-plate compactor shall have a centrifugal force of
16-20KN, a plate area of 0.35-0.5m5 and frequency of 75-100Hz. Enough passes
shall be mate to compact the paving course and produce an even surface.

All trimming should be completed before the area is compacted.

Compaction should follow laying as soon as possible but should not be carried out
within 1m of the laying edge. Apart from this edge strip no area of paving should be
left without being compacted at the completion is not to be completed at the end of
the day’s work.

2.3.9 Finished Levels

Finished levels of the paving units shall no deviation from the design profile measured
under a 3m straight edge should not exceed 10mm.The units shall form neat
junctions with and prevent damage to adjacent work.

2.3.10 Cleaning on Completion of Work

On complete the face of the units must be clear of all dust, rust and other stains,
adhering mortar and other droppings. Any units from which stains cannot be removed
shall be replaced at the Contractors expense and be to the approval of the LA.

Flexible paving surfaces are to be brushed down with a soft bristle bush with joints
refilled with sand where required.

The paved areas must be left in a neat and tidy condition to the satisfaction of the
Construction Manager.

2.4 Exposed Aggregate Insitu Paving

Exposed Aggregate Insitu paving shall be laid by competent and specialist


Contractor with experience in the field.The Contractor shall submit full details of
previous schemes in this area of work for prior Consultant’s approval. The
Consultant reserves the right to reject the contractor’s chosen sub-contractor, unless
they can exhibit a clear track record of high quality Exposed Aggregate

2.4.1 General

The contractor shall refer to the Engineers specification for concrete, and sub-base
in support of information given in the Contract Drawings.

2.42 Expansion Joint

The contractor shall mark out and agree the location of all full and all intermediate
expansion joints prior to construction on site.

2.43 Aggregate Sample

The Contractor shall use crushed granite angular aggregate 5-10mm nominal size
silver gray and light beige colour as a surface dressing to the insitu concrete paving
step areas.
The Contractor shall provide a 1/2kg sample for The Landscape Architect approval
prior to laying paving.

2.4.4 Aggregate Sample

The Contractor provide a sample area of paving 2.5m x 2.5m for approval of the
Landscape Architect.

2.4.5 Laving of Exposed Aggregate Paved Surfaces

The Contractor shall use crushed granite angular aggregate 5-10mm nominal size,
silver grey and light beige colour as a surface dressing to the insitu concrete
paving/step areas. The Contractor shall provide a sample for the Landscape
Architect approval prior to laying paving.

2.4.5 Laying of Exposed Aggregate Paved Surfaces

Exposed aggregate shall be laid onto a reinforced concrete base, which incorporate
expansion joints. The Contractor shall mark out and agree the position of all full and
Intermediate expansion joints with the Landscape Architect before proceeding.
Minimum thickness for RC concrete base shall be 150mm for pedestrian areas, and
base shall be laid to falls indicated on the contract drawings.

The 50mm deep 1:3 cement sand base shall be perfectly screeded off, to the falls and
levels entered on the Contract drawings. The Contractor shall mark out and agree the
position of all intermediate expansion joints before proceeding. The top 20mm screed
layer shall show a 95% content of exposed aggregate, with a 5% recessed mortar infill.

2.4.6 Finished Levels

Finished levels of the paving shall not deviate by more that 5mm measure against a
3.0m straight edge. Refer to Clause 2.1.8

2.4.7 Finishing Work Against Street Furniture, Manhole Covers, etc

The Contractor shall ensure that all Exposed Aggregate work extends right up the
edge of all items of Street Furniture, Manhole Covers and Lighting Poles. If necessary,
the contractor will be required to hack the surface of existing RC Concrete Foundation,
in order to lay the material.

2.4.8 Cleaning on Completion of Work
On completion the face of paving and steps must be clear of all dust, rust and other
stains. Any areas where stains cannot be removed shall be replaced at the
Contractors expanse and to the approval of the Landscape Architect.
Working period wherever practicable.

2.5 Paving to Manhole Covers and Drainage Furniture

2.5.1 General

Refer to Engineers Specification for manhole cover types and drainage furniture
fittings. The following clauses refer to junction between footpath surfacing and
manholes/drainage furniture.
Recessed manhole covers shall be provide to all areas of paving materials other than
black asphalt, these being concrete slabs, granite setts, granite and marble slabs.

2.5.2 Finished Levels

The top of manhole cover frame and cover shall be set flush with the finished level of
adjacent paving surfaces. The frame and cover shall be set to the falls of the paving
surface and the top of the frame shall not project more than 1.5mm above the level of
surrounding paving.
Where covers are recessed the surface of the compacted infill material shall be
finished flush, with the top surface of the cover and the surrounding paving surfaces.

2.5.3 Cutting Paving Material up to and within recessed Manhole Covers

Paving material around and within the manhole shall be cut neatly to the manhole
cover frame and to the edges of the cover respectively.
The Contractor shall comply with Specification clauses for cutting and trimming
concrete/clay pavers and slabs to provide neat junctions.
The Contractor shall cut concrete and clay pavers, slabs and setts to maintain the
surrounding paving pattern/bond. Prior to cutting the Contractor shall set and orientate
the cover to the approval of the Construction Manager to minimise disturbance to
paving pattern/bond. Fillet of colour matched mortar in lieu of small pieces of unit
paving shall be avoided where possible and only be used with the approval of
Construction Manager.

2.5.4 Setting and Orientation of Recessed Manhole Covers

In areas of concrete and clay pavers , slabs and setts, the Contractor shall allow for
positioning and orientating recessed manhole covers to minimise disturbance to the
paving pattern/bond as indicated in the Contract Drawings. Manhole covers shall be
orientated to line up with the direction of joining unless otherwise directed by the
approval of the Construction Manager prior to final fixing of the cover frame in place.

2.5.5 filling to Recessed Manhole Covers

Recessed manhole covers shall be backfilled with the paving surface materials and
sub-bases as indicated in the contract Drawings and be well compacted.

Where flexible paving is used as infill to covers then the sand bedding shall be
substituted with epoxy mortar mix, nirtromortar or equal and approved by the
Construction Manager.

2.5.6 Setting and Orientation of all Manhole, Valve Pitt and Inspection Covers, Drainage
channels and Gulleys

The Contractor shall agree final position and orientation of all covers and drainage
furniture with the Construction Manager prior to fixing in position.

2.5.7 Covers in soft Landscape

The contractor shall set the frames and covers of all manhole located in soft
landscape to the level and line of the proposed finished levels to topsoil as indicated
in the Earthworks Drawings. The contractor shall allow for the setting of the covers
and frames in conjunction with earthwork operations to allow for accurate setting with
a tolerance of + 50mm. The contractor shall obtain the approval of the construction
manager before each frame and covers is fixed in position.

2.6 Grass cell / grass paver

2.6.1 GENERAL

All work in this section shall comply with the requirements of the contract documents.
Supply and install grass cells as shown on the drawings or specified herein.

2.6.2 MATERIALS

GENERIC SPECIFICATION

The grass pavers shall be interlocking structural plastic porous pavers manufacture
with high impact UV-stable 100% recycled plastics. In addition, the grass pavers shall
meet the following requirements:

a) Load bearing capacity of >80 N/cm2 (>80 t/m2) for fire engine access.

b) The individual cells shall be evenly spaced to ensure even distribution of loads.

c) The grass pavers shall have an open base design for minimal hindrances to root
growth and drainage and side openings to allow for runner and root growth between
cells.

d) The grass pavers shall have vertical webs at the concerns of each cell to minimise
girdling of roots along the interior cell wall.

e) The grass pavers shall have snap-on connectors to allow modules to interlock and be
assembled into large panels and ensure that individual modules remain in place after
installation.

2.6.3 EXECUTION

2.6.3.1 the propriety materials specified herein shall be provided / installed in


accordance to the project requirement as approved by the superintending
officer.

2.6.3.2 propriety materials supplied shall be identified clearly with the product name
and description. Packaged materials shall be stored in manufacturer’s
wrappings and containers with the manufacturer’s labels and seat intact.

2.6.3.3 Prior to installation, the contractor shall submit method statements and / or
shop drawings for the installation of the grass pavers. The latter shall be on
at least A3 size paper or larger and in a CAD-recognisable format.

2.6.3.4 Sub-grate preparation

a) Excavate and level the area where the grass pavers are to be installed
according to the recommendations under the section Base course
preparation (bellow).

b) Compact the excavated or levelled area using a mechanical plate


compactor or light compactor roller according to the Engineer’s
specifications.

c) Proprietary sub-surface drainage and irrigation systems and utility lines


should be installed in the sub-grade. Disturbed areas should be lightly
compacted after installation.

2.6.3.5 base course preparation

Lay down and compact sandy gravel or recommended graonite aggregate
base course that meets road base construction specification or according to
Engineer’s specification.

3.0 METAL WORK GENERALLY : METAL SPECIFICATION AND FINISHES

3.1 Metal and Protection

3.1.1 mild steel Components

All mild steel shall be supplied to site fully hot dipped galvanished.
The following clauses are to complied with in addition to the spectification for Highway
Works, August 1986 series 1800

Mid steel shall be to B.S. 4360 (1972)Grade 43c


Steel tube shall be to B.S. 1775 (1964).
Steel plate shall be to B.S. 1449 (1972).
Steel wire shall be to B.S. 4102.
Nuts and bolts shall be to B.S. 4190 & 3692.

Bending joints shall be undertaken to provide smooth and true curves. Tightly curved
and bent sections shall be free from all distortions and rippling.

All sharp edges shall be ground smooth.

3.1.2 Galvanising Mild Steel

All mild steel shall be hot dip galvanised to B.S. 729. mild steel shall be galvanised to
an even depth and finishes surfaces shall be smooth and even with out ripples,
bubbles or other marks to the approval of the Construction Manager. Any minor visible
gaps between two contiguous metal surfaces are required to be taken up with a metal
filling compound approved by the Construction Manager. Site welding or cutting or any
other activity which would destroy the galvanishing protection layer must be kept to an
absolute minimum.if any part of the protective layer is damaged it must be immediately
made good with Galvafroid or zinc rich (90%) two pack epoxy primer or equal and
approved by the Construction Manager.

3.1.3 Stainless Steel

All stainless shall be supplied with a brushed hairline finish.


All stainless steel fixings and fittings shall be to B.S. 1449 : Part 2 : 1975

3.1.4 Fixings and Fastenings Generally

The Contractor shall provide a simple of all fixings and fastenings to the
Construction Manager for approval. These shall include but not be limited to hinges,
locks, nuts, and bolts, nails, and screws, cables, wire and tensioners.

4.0 PAINT FINISHES

4.1 Material - insitu / On Site Appication

Paint for external metalwork finishes shall be supplied by ICI Dulux or equal
and approved by the Construction Manager.
All paint must be to the R.A.L colour reference system. Paint colours to be as directed
by the Construction Manager.

Paint System :
i. Mordant Solution (T-wash).
ii. 1no. Coat metal primer zinc phosphate (50um dry film thickness).
iii. 1no. Coat undercoat (25um dryfilm thickness).
iv. 2 no. Coats high gloss at (25um dry film thickness per coat).

Total dry film thickness (DFT) 125um.

Site location : sitewide

4.2 Materials - Off Site Application and Type

The Contractor shall note that all items of street furniture shall be supplied off site
and shall be delivered with a full polyester powder coated paint system already
applied under factory condition.

4.3 Applying Finishes

Mordant solution (T-Wash) and paint finishes should be factory applied however they
maybe applied on-site by agreement with the Construction Manager, in suitable
weather conditions, entirely in accordance with the manufactures recommendations
and latest printed instructions.
The Contractor shall give 24 hours notice to the Construction Manager of his intention
to apply mordant solution (T-Wash) and paint finishes to all metal work components.
The Contractor shall allow for applying the full painting specification to a 5.0am section
of each length of each handrail/triprail applications. All paint finishes must be sprayed
applied and not be brushed applied.
The Contractor shall take care to avoid the contact of painting onto all adjoining
materials including timber, paving etc, and any paint stains/marks or spills shall be
removed by the Contractor or where this is not possible the adjoining materials shall
be made good or replaced to the Construction Manager and at the Contractor expense.

5.0 HANDRAIL AND GATES

5.1 General

The Contractor shall refer to clauses to metalwork for the construction of handrails
and gates in addition to the following clauses.
The Contractor shall undertake a site measure for all areas of handrails and gates and
make any adjustments required, all to the approval of the Construction Manager.
The Contractor shall provide shop drawing shop drawings for each type of handrail for
approval of the Construction Manager.
The Contractor shall agree with the Construction Manager the setting out of handrail,
where non standard panel lengths are required, eg: at corners, junctions and
boundaries and prior to the fixing of posts into position.

The Contractor shall allow for the construction of a simple panel length of each type
of handrail which shall be approved by the Construction Manager prior to the
installation of each handrail type. Where railings are required to be curved at radius
they shall be curved to smooth true lines. Curved and bent sections shall be free from
all distortions or rippling.

6.0 STREET FURNITURE

6.1 General

Street Furniture items shall be supplied as indicated in the Contract Drawings.


The following general notes shall apply :

I. The Contractor shall supply shop Drawings for each of the street furniture

II. The Contractor shall supply a sample of each of the street furniture
components to the Construction Manager for approval prior to general
fabrication of street furniture.

III. Where pain finish is required for street furniture items it shall be factory
applied and shall be a polyester powder coated typo coated type of paint.
Concrete components shall be finished in the same manner as far Speacial
Pre-cast. Concrete Units reffered to elsewhere in the same manner as far
specification.

IV. The Contractor shall refer to the Engineers Specification for concrete
footing, foundations and sub-bases required for the installation of street
furniture.

V. All street furniture items shall be provide finished in colours in accordance


with R.A.L. colour reference system. Colours shall be directed by the
Construction Manager.

VI. Any damage to any street furniture item which occurs at any time during
loading,transport, off loading storage of installation shall be notified to the
Construction Manager and be entirely at the Contractors expense. Where
damage is agreed with the Construction Manager to be sufficiently minor
to be made good on-site then repairs shall be undertaken in accordance with
the manufactures/suppliers recommendations

VII. All street furniture items shall be fixed into position as indicated in the
Contract Drawings.

VIII. After installation the faces of all street furniture items shall be clear of all
dust, rust or other staints to the approval of the Construction Manager. The
Contractor shall protect all street furniture items from damage prior to
Practical Completion.
