“PROBLEMS MEET BY THE SENIOR

HIGH STUDENTS UPON
ATTENDING FLAG CEREMONY
IN CULABA NATIONAL
HIGH SCHOOL”
 CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study

The Philippine Flag is the National Emblem of the Filipinos. It symbolizes the
Philippine Freedom, History, and Sovereignty. Recent school years (2017-2018), the
school observed flag ceremonies every Monday morning and flag lowering every Friday
afternoon. On the school year (2018-2019), the school is observing flag ceremonies
from Monday to Friday. According to Republic Act No. 8491, otherwise known as the
AN ACT PRESCRIBING THE CODE OF THE NATIONAL FLAG, ANTHEM, MOTTO,
COAT-OF-ARMS, and OTHER HERALDIC ITEMS AND DEVICES OF THE
PHILIPPINES. All government offices and educational institutions shall henceforth
observe the flag raising ceremony every Monday morning and the flag lowering
ceremony every Friday afternoon. The ceremony shall be simple and dignified and shall
include the playing or singing of the Philippine National Anthem.

This problem had accumulated from tolerable to habitual state and it has a
significant impact in their performance at school. Most of the class had been influenced
by their peers and this would be embedded in their mind pattern until college and
ultimately to their vacation and their adventures in life. Other students had just the
difficulty in optimizing their time as their subject related activities grows in bulk.
Reported incidents on online games cyber addiction were prominent and this usually
happens after
lunch break. To figure it out, students set aside their precedence to study and learn thus
the prominent of this research had to find out. Moreover, the researcher’s intentions is
to isolate the primary reason of tardiness and proactive intervention will be executed so
as to curtail if it will not utterly do away with the quandaries. As the school inculcates
discipline to have a world class graduates, globally competitive and well-rounded
individuals, the researcher had in mind to unearth
the reason behind of this punctuality virtue which is annoying, losing its ground.

B. Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the problems meet by the Senior High School students
upon attending flag ceremony of Culaba National Vocational School, Virginia, Culaba,
Biliran. Specifically, it sought to answer the following:

1.What are the factors of not attending flag ceremony?

2.What are the effects of not attending flag ceremony?

C. Significance of the Study

This research paper can give an accurate information to the office of school headand
teachers of Culaba National Vocational School that is very significant to their records.
This study will help the school to solve the problems of students not attending flag
ceremony.

To bring their awareness the importance of attending flag ceremony to attain a better
quality of education. The findings of this research could help the school and
administrators assess the problems meet by the senior high school students upon
attending flag ceremony.
