1. IsuYang Difokuskan (Focused issue):

Classrooms are not conducive for the students to learn. I noticed that many classrooms are not clean and
organized.
2. Analisis Isu Yang Difokuskan -Punca dan Kesan Isu (Analysis of the focused issue) :
I have been to many relief classes at sksg. I noticed that many classrooms are not clean. The tables and
chairs are not arranged properly. The cupboard inside the classrooms does not serve a purpose. Students
only use it to throw rubbish. Students also do not follow their duty roster. According to my observation, many
teachers also do not take the responsibility to ensure students keep their classroom clean.

3. Kajian Lampau Terhadap isu - Pengalaman atau kajian lepas ((Literature Review):
A Clean Classroom Means Fewer Distractions
There are numerous reasons why students become distracted in the classroom. Working in a cluttered,
disorganised and dirty classroom is an element of distraction to a student’s day. It’s very difficult for students,
and teachers, to succeed if the classroom environment is chaotic and unproductive. Teachers command
respect from the students in the room. Children are very observant and if they see the teacher doesn’t care
about the cleanliness of the classroom, they too will lose respect for the room and the instructor.
A Better Learning Experience
In order for students to find what they need and use it properly, the classroom must remain clean and
organised. Consistency and routine are instrumental in a child’s development. They need to know exactly
where to find a certain item and be able to put it back correctly. This also fosters independence and confidence
in learning. Students also need to know that if they want to utilise that same item the next day that they can
find it in the same spot as the day before. This organisation will allow for a more productive and efficiently run
classroom.
Teachers Can Focus on Students
A teacher’s role is to enrich, educate and encourage students to succeed. Their focus should be on the
needs of the children and the curriculum, not on tidying the classroom. A teacher should not be forced to
stop a lesson to take out the garbage or pick up pieces of paper and other debris from the floor.
Creates Good Habits
Students are creatures of habit and routine. They often like to know what’s coming next and respond well to
structure. If their everyday surroundings at school are messy and disorganized, it will affect their ability to
focus and learn.
4. Cadangan dan Idea Penyelesaian Masalah (Suggestions and Ideas to Solve the Issue) :
How to Maintain a Clean Classroom
Children are well-known for leaving a mess and "forgetting" to pick up after themselves. Often times many of
us find that they will clean up their mess, but only if we remind them to. Teachers spend a lot of time picking
up scraps of paper off the floor, or finding books left in places where they shouldn't be. This precious time
should be spent instructing students, but more often then less it usually falls on the teacher to clean up. To
solve this issue and take back your teaching time, try passing some responsibility off to your students.
Here's how to implement cleanup monitors:
1. Assign one student (who is in a row or in a group of desks) the job as a pre-monitor. Their job is to
check the desks in their section before class even starts. If they find anything then they report it to the
monitor.
2. Assign another student the job as a monitor. Their job is to check the desks and the surrounding area
after each lesson or activity. If they find anything under someones desk they must politely ask them to
pick it up. If the student doesn't listen, the monitor then reports to the teacher for further instructions.
3. Assign a third student the job as a checker. Their job is to check anything that the pre-monitor or
monitor missed throughout the day.
Tips for Keeping Your Classroom Tidy
1. Offer a reward (i.e.homework pass) as an incentive for keeping the inside and outside of students'
desks clean.
2. One of the main problems teachers have is paper on the floor. Keep a recycle bin close to each section
of desks to eliminate this problem.
3. Cover desks in newspaper if you are going to glue or paint to help eliminate a mess.
4. To avoid clutter designate certain areas of the classroom for students to keep their belongings (lunch
box, backpack, etc.).

5. Tempoh Masa Penyelesaian (Time Taken to Solve the Issue):

1 week- This steps can be implemented in the classrooms that I teach.

6. Tindakan Susulan (Follow up Measures)

Measures will be taken in the classroom I teach. I will try to inform about this methods to other teachers.
