1) Write your answers in brief.


a) At what forward voltage does a diode conduct a current equal to 1000I S ? (Here, I S is the
reverse saturation current of the diode, and consider room temperature as 270 C)
b) Estimate I and V using constant voltage drop model of a diode shown in Fig. 1.

3) a) Assuming that the diodes in the circuit of Fig. 2 are ideal, find the values of the labeled voltage

b) Explain the working principle of a p-n junction diode at forward and reverse bias conditions.
