Outline for the Manila Rotary International Convention 2026

Objective:
1. Position the Philippines as the most suitable country to host the Rotary International
Convention 2026 aside from the other bidders by submitting a written
document/presentation and an AVP to the RI.

Structure/Outline of written/audio-visual presentation:
1. Introduction
a. The Philippines is the first Asian country to have Rotary and spread it across
Asia
i. Show historicals of Rotary Growth in Asia due to the Philippines
b. The Philippines is both multicultural and a great tourist destination.
i. Share a brief history on why we are very multicultural (touch on Spain
to Japan)
ii. Expound on the Department of Tourism’s tagline: It’s More Fun in the
Philippines
iii. Share statistics on international visitors from 2018-2019.
iv. Showcase:
1. Food & Cuisine
2. Cultural Events & Festivals
3. Nature & Biodiversity
4. Shopping & Retail
5. Rich Historical Landmarks
c. The Filipino people will surely take care of you.

2. Why Manila is the perfect place to hold the Rotary International Convention 2026:
a. We are compliant with the RI’s critical criteria
i. Our venue is available and sufficient to accommodate all required
activities and house the projected number of attendees.
ii. We have plenty of accommodations that are sufficient to meet the
required number of rooms and discount, as well as WiFi connection.
iii. Our transportation systems are adequate enough to transport all
delegates with shuttle provisions. There are also new roads and
transport systems being constructed.
b. Minimal cost to the RI as the ways and means committee will ensure funds to
cover the major expenses for venue, accommodations, transportation, etc.
c. We offer entertainment and leisure packages that will enliven the
convention.
d. The HOC is manned by experienced, competent, dedicated, and inspired
Rotarians and professionals.
e. 100% of the Philippines Rotary support is evidenced by the commitment of
support from ten district governors.
f. The Philippine Government and private sector supports this, as shown by the
commitment of support from DOT, DFA, DND, DILG, DOTC, MMDA, and
more.

g. The Philippines is no stranger to successfully hosting events of great

magnitude:

h. In addition to the existing infrastructures, new roads, convention centres and
arenas, airport terminals, and buildings, among other facilities, are being
constructed and are due to be finished, fully furnished, and operational by
2026.
i. Manila also offers tourist destinations as post-convention activities.
j. It is a mixed-use estate: where residential, commercial, cultural, institutional,
and entertainment facilities are all close to one another.
