Essay 1-Write an Autobiographical Statement

After my high school graduation, I had no appealing career choice. I steadily looked for a life-

changing career, one that could give direction to my studies. I ended up enrolling in various

courses and many departments. From the series of classes I attended, none brought a

transformation in my life, but I learned the passions and set of skills making the business the

ideal career. I enjoyed the vigorous thoughts of statistics hence influencing my decision to

pursue economic as my undergraduate major. I have integrated all the mathematical concepts I

have studied in domestic policy, health care, developing countries, and positive environmental

changes. The education has also taught me to view the situation in various perspectives though it

The skill I first developed in high school. I currently hold a good GPA from my learning interest.

However, career decision is never a straightforward decision for me, but the gained self-

knowledge clarifies economics as the right choice. I have a career plan for improving systems

with direct effects on the individual's daily lives. Using domestic public policy work. I still hold

the dream of attending the University of Toronto due to education, faculty, and students' quality

of life with an unparalleled reputation.

Essay 2 – What are Your Short Term and Long Term Career Plans?

My long term and short time goals fall is four types. They include goals focusing on education,

efficiency, productivity, and personal development. Based on productivity, I would like to hit

and even surpass my employer’s production targets monthly. To effectively achieve the goals, I

will need to focus on my speed, consistency, and accuracy. I also have ten years of' education

career goals. My education continuity will assist me in being at the forefront of economic

development. Also, seeking opportunities helps in the improvement and development of skills

that will ensure I remain relevant and updated with my career developments. Lastly, I have long

term goals of continuous self-improvement. It entails personal skills like leadership, teamwork,

networking, and communication. They assist in achieving both the short term and long term

goals. Besides, other short term goals include; learning more on how to make the long term

goals, acquiring the necessary training and education. Also, the development of skills and buying

experiences associated with my long term goal and creating networks and connections with my

fellow economists assist in achieving my goals.

Why Those vs. Others You Have Considered or Rejected?

Besides the stated goals, I have also considered others since the career plans do not necessarily

have restrictions to only one result. With the complete acceptance of having many long term

career plans, there is a need for actionable and reasonable attack plans in achieving the goals.

Thus, I have also considered other purposes like beginning my own business, becoming an

expert in my field, getting a promotion, assuming a leadership position, winning an award,

increasing my reactiveness, and causing improvement in the firm's bottom line. The goals enable

me to have something I’m focusing on and drives me forward with the motivation of improving

my growth. They assist me in ahead of the world by pushing me to achieve my career dreams.

Describe a Societal or Organizational Situation Requiring Leadership

The organizational situations with leadership development needs include first when an individual

assumes the leadership position. It is essential to start well, and therefore the transitioning leaders

the needed fundamentals for success. Also, when a leader is at any level of their career. All

leaders, irrespective of their standards, benefit from motivation, energy, and new thinking

infusion and also their interpersonal skills development. It requires high levels of self-

management, self-development, and self-awareness. Leadership needed in implementing and

embracing legislation and regulations which surround discrimination, harassment, psychological

abuse, and bullying hence resolving the conflicts related complaints. It is also required when a

leader runs empty through learning the management of their energy to perform adequately and

effectively. Leadership is also needed during accountability for team development, and lastly

when there are situations with great partnership and collaboration needs.

How Would You Resolve it, Using What You Have Learned from Your Academic Studies and

Your Career to Date

I would solve it using the contingency theory stating that leadership styles depend on the

leadership situations. The leaders make adjustments on their motivation approaches, orientation,

and decision making based on factors such as the type of work, employee's characteristics,

personal preferences, organizational structure, and management influences. The elements

dictating situational control in leadership include leader vs. member relations, positioning power,

and text structure. Task structure entails both relatively unstructured and highly structured jobs.

The leader vs. member relationship applies to the amount of support, dependability, and loyalty

leaders obtain from their employees. A leader possesses a well-formed task structure with the

ability to punish or reward employees without problems in a favorable relationship. However, in

antagonistic ties, there is a poor formation of task structure with limited leadership authority.

Positioning power has a measurement for the administration and control given to the manager for

rewarding, punishing, and directing subordinates. The leadership excels in good members' vs.

leaders, either active or weak position power and structured task situations.

Describe an Ethical Dilemma, Conflict or Failure in Which You Were Involved

I almost offered a client low-quality product at a higher price for my benefit. As an economist, I

was trying to maximize my profit from a product without considering the consumers. I was

caught in a situation between pleasing my employer through increased production hence more

profits to the company and offering low-quality goods to the customers but with high quantity.

Deciding between number and quality choices was confusing. It, therefore, needed the

application of integrity value. Besides, the priority and hierarchy rules also had formed in the

situation and developing the ethical dilemma problem-solving strategy.

How Did You Deal with or Resolve the Situation?

I dealt with the situation using a six steps framework. I first identified if it's an ethical issue with

conflicts of rights, values, or professional duties. I then identified the fundamental principles and

values involved though establishing their attached disadvantages and meanings and ranked the

ethical principles or benefits with the most relevance to the dilemma. Developed an action plan

with consistency on moral priorities determined central to the difficulty. Implemented my

program by utilizing the appropriate practical skills and competences and finally reflecting the

response of ethical decision-making procedures.

What Did You learn from the Situation and What Would You Do Differently Now?

From the ethical dilemma, I learned the concern on the wrongness or rightness of an action,

character's vice or virtue, and also the evil and good general matters and the response to both evil

and good. What I would do differently now is having my consumers or customers as my priority

in business. I need not focus on making more profits at the expense of causing harm to my

clients. I have learned the preference of quality to quantity. Besides, I discovered that all

societies have their governing codes of conduct. The virtues enable individuals to develop their

articulation skills hence providing them with reasons for their actions, and providing them with

the questioning means values for others.

Describe Your Three Most Substantial Accomplishment and Why you view Them as Such

My first substantial accomplishment is how I solved the organizational situation requiring

leadership skills using the contingency theory, which states that leadership styles depend on the

leadership situations. I used the following situational control elements in leadership; leader vs.

member relations, positioning power, and text structure. Here, I discovered that a leader
