Every Child Is Special

The movie “Every Child Is Special” was one of the best movie I have watched

that makes me believe that family must have patience and understanding to help their

children in achieving their dreams.

The movie is about a boy named Ishaan Awasthi who is suffering from dyslexia.

Dyslexia is a condition where in a certain person has the inability neither to read nor to

write. It is difficult for him to learn certain words and catch up with the class.

In the beginning of the movie, Ishaan has a happy go lucky lifestyle wherein he

always do what he wants and always depend on his mother. I understand him because

he is still only an eight years old boy who always need mothers care. In school, he

always end up having trouble with his teachers and classmate because of his condition.

They always thought that Ishaan was only making excuses every time he said, “words

are dancing…”.The boy was being described as a lazy, undisciplined, idiot, crazy and

pathetic student. In this part, I am sad and disappointed on how they treat Ishaan. I am

sad because no one’s help Ishaan instead his classmates and some of his schoolmates

bullied him. Disappointed because even the teachers that are expected to help Ishaan

but did not make any action to do something for him instead they only cause Ishaan to

reduce his self-confidence. They did not give any chance to understand and to ask

Ishaan what is his real problem.

Ishaan’s school performance also affect how his family treat him. They thought

that Ishaan was only seeking some attention by being naughty and troublemaker in

school. I am sad on how they see Ishaan. They only see his flaws and mistake. His
father think that Ishaan has no dignity or fortune in growth because he is distraught and

he does not want to go to school. Though Ishaan’s mother show care on him it is not

still enough to Ishaan to feel their understanding. Instead of understanding him and

guiding him they just decided to bring their son on a boarding school to teach him being

responsible not knowing his real condition.
