A pressure vessel steel grade with good weldability and high resistance to brittle cracking,
P355NH is used by the world’s fabricators for the manufacture of pressure vessel tanks for the
storage of pressurised gases.
P355NH is a normalised steel grade with a minimum yield strength of 275-460 N/mm² and plates
are available ex–stock from our warehouse.
(Please note: the technical information above is for guidance only – for exact specifications
please check with our Sales Team)
The combined quantities of Niobium, Titanium and Vanadium should be 0.12% max.)
EN 10028
EN 10028 Part 2 & 3 is the euro norm specification for flat steel products intended for use in
pressurised service. The specification covers non–alloy and alloys steels as well as weldable fine
grain steels.
EN 10028 sets standards for steel used in weldable industrial boilers and pressure vessels. The
specification has the same status of the old DIN and BS Standards which EN 10028 has now
superseded.
Terminology
When reviewing EN 10028 pressure vessel steel grades in subsequent pages of our website
please note that…
As a steel stockholder, Masteel UK Limited offer EN 10028 specified boiler and pressure vessel
quality steel from stock which is in most cases of Western European Origin – this is known for
its superior quality. Our carbon steel plates come with mill certification and are stamped to
provide full traceability.
Alternatively, the customer can arrange testing via a third party testing house.
Our pressure vessel steels often end up in fabricated steel tanks used in sour service
environments which are commonly found in the oil and gas industry. We can test your pressure
vessel and boiler steel for its susceptibility to hydrogen induced cracking (see HIC steel), which
is often a requirement for the supply of carbon steel plates into such industries
EN10028 P355GH Steel plate for Boiler Pressure Vessel
P355GH steel plate, EN10028 P355GH steel plates is a kind of material for boiler and pressure
vessel steel. EN10028 P355GH steel plates is characterised by a minimum yield strength of 280-
355 MPa and by good weldability,so P355GH steel is mainly used to for manufacturing boilers,
pressure vessels and pipes transporting hot liquids.the following are EN10028 P355GH steel
plate's Chemical composition and mechanical properties.
P355GH steel is an ideal material for use in pressure vessels, especially in the storage of hot
liquids. It is produced under the Euro Norm standard EN10028 which replaced the older British
and German DIN standards. The material is an equivalent to the American standard grades
ASTM A516 Grade 70 and ASME SA516 Grade 70.
Bebon International is a professional EN10028 P355GH steel exporter and a steel Stockist in
china. We keep more than 1000 tons EN10028 P355GH steel in stock every month. If you want
to get the EN10028 P355GH steel price, please do not hesitate to contact us. Any need in

Which material is better between SA515GR70 and SA516GR70?
From the literature, We got the following information.
Technically, both of these materials have almost identical physical properties and chemical
composition. Only difference is that carbon content is (0.04%) higher in SA-515 (C=0.31%) as compared
to SA-516 (C=0.27%). Moreover, A515 and A516 is that A515 is produce to coarse grain practices and for
use in high temperature applications such steam piping or pressure vessels, since coarse grains good
resistant for creep deformation and helps to minimize the graphitization. A516 is produced to fine grain
practices in order to maximum the fracture toughness. For vessels or components that operate above
ambient temperature service, SA 515 is acceptable plate material because you would be above the
ductile to brittle transition temperature in service. For vessels that operate at or below ambient
temperature service, the SA 516 plate material would be specified because of improved impact
properties or notch toughness per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 or Div. 2 minimum design metal temperature
requirements.
ASTM A-515 Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Carbon Steel, for Intermediate and Higher
Temperature Services
· ASTM A-516 Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Carbon Steel, for Moderate and
Lower Temperature Service
· As per ASME Sec. II Part D for Sec. VIII Div. 1, both the materials have the same high temperature
limit that is 538 deg C and working temperature is 427 deg C.
We would like to know, for boiler applications at a particular temperature, which material (B/N
SA515Gr70 and SA516Gr70) will work better ?
