SUBJECT & GRADE LEVEL Science 8 TIME ENDED: __10:55_

OBSERVATION 1 X 2 3 4

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS
The teacher inspects the classroom. He asked one of his students to lead the prayer. He
greets the students and asked to stand up and remain standing. He then asked to pick all the
pieces of papers under their chairs and arrange the chairs in line. The teacher asked the
secretary to check the attendance and list the names of the students who are not present.
Before the lesson begins, the teacher announces the names of the students who failed the
given quiz last day. He reminds them to have a remedial quiz next day.
The teacher begins to introduce the topic and said “Welcome to the world of PHYSICS!” He
asked the students if they are familiar with physics asking “Who among you can tell
something about physics or any idea from your last year’s science topics in line in Physics.
One student answer the question and define the word Physics. “Ok class our topic for today is
all about Newton’s Three Laws of Motion and Uniform Circular Motion.” Before he continues
his lesson he writes on the board the following important vocabulary words which will be taken
for the whole discussion. The following words are: mass, inertia, acceleration, force, and
interaction.
After presenting the important words, he requested the students to group their selves into five
(5). The teacher gave the challenge named “Inertia Challenge” It is a challenge which must do
with patience in order to succeed. In this challenge each group will be given 8 cups and
cardboards and they will have to stack the cups as shown on the given figure. The challenge
is for each group member to remove one cardboard without toppling the cup tower. After
performing the challenge, he begins to discuss the first law of motion which is the Law of
Inertia. He posted the sample picture of law of inertia for students to become aware with it. He
shows the definition and the formula of using the law of inertia. A comic picture was shown to
illustrate how Law of Inertia is done. Afterwards, the teacher enters the second law of motion
which is the Law of Acceleration. He asked “what are the relationship of mass, acceleration
and force? The teacher again posted a group activity. In this activity students will use a
dynamics cart to measure the acceleration as (A) you change the mass of the cart and as (B)
you change the net force on the cart. A falling mass will be used to pull the cart along the
table. Keep in mind that the entire mass, both of the carts and the falling mass must be used
since both parts are moving together. Finally, students will graph each part’s data and verify
the relationships presented in Newton’s Second Law of Motion. And finally the teacher talks
over the last Law of Motion which is the Law of Interaction. He displayed again the picture
with regards to law of acceleration. In the picture, learners will identify the action and reaction
forces.
Lastly, the teacher give the last Activity with the directions Make an 8-words memoirs about
the concept you have learned from the topic discussed.
He called some students to generalize the topic from first law to third law of motion.

The teacher asked the students to get ¼ sheet of paper for a short quiz.
Before the quiz started, he posted the rules “4321 RULES”.
Everything was done smoothly from discussion to quiz.
The teacher reminds them to keep all their things for the next subject.
The teacher called them to stand up and arrange their chairs.

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS
The teacher asked one of the students to lead the prayer. Afterwards he greets the students.
The teacher requested to remain standing for the checking of their attendance. He asked who
among of the students are not present during that time. The teacher demanded to clean the
surroundings by picking all the pieces of papers under their chairs.
He asked the students how their day was. And the students replied.
The teacher posted the KWL written on the manila paper. He requested students to get their
science notebook and write what is posted. After writing the KWL, the teacher started to play
the video to get the attention of the learners. He requested the students to move sideward for
them to dance easily for the motivation.
After giving motivation, he posted the trivia about the topic.
He shows pictures of devastated places related to the topic and examined student’s memory
by guessing what is the picture all about. One student raises her hand and answer the
question.
The teacher asked the students if they already experienced earthquake or had been a victim
of an earthquake tragedy.
Afterwards he gives practical situations based on what other people experienced during an
earthquake. This is to measure how students will react when they encounter same
circumstances.
The teacher called their attention and asked them to count 1-5. This time they need to group
their selves into five and choose their leaders. He gave instructions to each group.
This time each group needs to perform a play showing the proper ways of making an
emergency plan and preparing an emergency kit to be use at home and in school.
After giving the activity, the teacher plays the video of different places that experienced
earthquake and the reasons why earthquake occurs.
The video presented was to show to students the importance of having knowledge about the
cause of an earthquake.
While doing the video presentation each group was given a task to write the information as
part of the discussion.
The teacher distributes the Activity Worksheet entitled “FAULT MODEL”.
Activities aim is to develop the cooperation of each member of the group.
To generalized the lesson, the teacher call one representative from each group and asked to
go to in front and write the important words and knowledge they acquired from the topic
presented.
Each representative represents their group well.
Afterwards the teacher asked the students to get a 1/4sheet of paper and number it 1-10 for a
short quiz.
After giving the quiz the teacher reminds the students about the due date of their project for
the second quarter.
Everything was done smoothly from activity to quiz with the cooperation of each team.
Congratulations for a job well done and for presenting your lesson interesting.

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS
The teacher greets the students. He asked to stand up and check their selves. He requested
them to pick all the pieces of papers under their chairs.
Before he begin his lesson, he gives question “what do you think is the greatest contribution
of plants to living things on Earth?”
Some students raised their hands to answer and most of them answer it well.
After giving the question the teacher shows picture of different plants for students to measure
their stock knowledge about plants. Students replied and give the name of the following given
pictures. This simple activity is intended to catch the attention of the students with the used of
pictures with colours.
Later, the teacher asked the students to stand up and go to their respective group. There are
8 members for each group.
After grouping, the teacher posted the directions on the LCD Projector about their first activity.
A rubric was also shown before doing the activity. The teacher also warns each group to be
careful of finding plants. The aim of this activity is to measure their unity and cooperation on
finding materials needed which is available around the school ground.
The name of the activity is “Rampa PlantALO” or in English “Ramp Plant Winner”. Models
have to use plants as a dress. Each group should select a partner that will ramp as a model.
The teacher commands the students to go outside the classroom to look for available plants.
As I observed every member of each group participated and help one another to show
creativity for their presentation.
Eventually each group had been performed well and presented the plants with creativity.
So far the first activity was done with smiles and happiness. Laughter from each member of
the group was priceless.
The teacher requested to go back to their group sitting arrangements.
He shows authority and power to control the noise after the first activity. Students responded
with silence and submissive attitude.
Afterwards, he shows a presentation through the use of LCD Projector. Videos and pictures of
plants were shown during the discussion. He also asked question if someone from the class
has any idea, fact or trivia about plants. Some students answered.
Later on, he picks trivia from the book he brought.
Another activity was given. And this time they need to arrange and classify the following
organisms that eat plants.
The materials were sorted and each leader of the group presented it well.
After the activity the teacher collected the worksheet.
He congratulates the students for having a good report.
Due to insufficient time the teacher asked the students to prepare ¼ sheet of paper where
they will write their generalization on what they learnt from the topic. The generalization also
serves as the evaluation.
Congratulations for a very creative and interesting class today! Hope you continue this kind of
strategy.
