The “Mood Book” is an activities and self reflection book.

Our product includes


sections of coloring, self reflection, daily logs, interactive activities, and advice. This
book aims to help users unwind and bring advice. This will help teens and young adults
who are suffering from anxiety, depression, or other mental or physical hardships
release stress through writing, drawing, and most importantly reflecting. A part of our
book includes suggestions for certain emotions that users have a hard time dealing
with. Since many people suffer from seasonal depression, we want to develop 4 mood
books (one for each season) and include activities for each season. Additionally, each
book includes a different online link to a 5 hour meditation session, which the user can
play when he/she needs to relax and destress. Meditation has been proven to alter
areas of the brain linked to depression. After a long day, our consumers can kick back
and use our daily activities which includes coloring, self care advice, reflection sections,
and advice for the next day. Coloring has been shown to help people suffering from
mental disorders to manage. In order to heal and grow, we must know where we start
and how we feel, so at the end of every day we have a reflection. Many people
experience radical changes in mood and our book also has a section for activities for
certain emotions, so users can better manage their emotions.
Our innovation enhances the wellbeing of teens and young adults living with a
mental illness because our product ,“The Mood Book” helps people who are suffering
from depression, anxiety, or other mental illnesses cope with these issues by acting as
a support system for consumers. Our product includes a drawing, writing, reflecting,
tips, meditation, activities section and more! These components of our product acts as a
healthier vice than binging and sleeping for our consumers because the time used in
filling out the various sections of activities in our book will induce a sense of calmness,
bringing serenity and satisfaction to those who need a stress-free activity to do when
they are having a bad day, or experiencing anything that makes him/her feel overly
emotional. Our product is especially new and innovative because it interacts with the
consumer through different ways - writing, reading, coloring, and other fun activities.
Despite the fact that there were already activities books or coloring books, our product
is aimed towards but not limited to those suffering from mental illness. Also, our product
includes more than coloring, we focus on every step of reviving or coping with mental
illness. Our product is an all in one product, so consumers don’t have to worry about
buying more than one.
With the recent surge in activism in mental health, there is a larger market for
people with mental illness because people are stepping up unashamed to care
for their mental health. Our product alleviates the continuously growing problem
of depression and anxiety among teens and young adults. Social Media is greatly
affecting the mental health of teens and young adults, which is why our company
designed an interactive book for teens and young adults to pull away from
electronics to take some time to do activities and reflect on themselves in an
old-school manner. A problem that our product solves that is not currently being
met is that our product offers a variety of ways to reduce stress - meditation,
coloring, daily logs, mini art projects, mood stabilizing tips and more! We also
have 4 more seasonal mood book options to choose from. “The Mood Book” is
an all in one book that includes all activities in order to reflect and grow. Other
companies are different because they do not focus on people with mental health,
or they only have one activity.
Our consumers will generally be caucasian teens and young adults aged
16 to 38 years old. We believe with millenials and Gen Z, social media has
become a big part of their lives and takes a big part in mental health. Also, with
movements started by Gen Z and millenials, mental illness is not shamed and
instead is more openly talked about. Our target consumers might be going
through a dark/stressful or happy/excited situation. Taking care of ourselves
and our mental health shouldn't have to happen after traumatic events. Mental
health care can start whenever and wherever. Our book allows anyone to
reflect and take care of themselves. Our consumers are also more likely to like
self reflection and are very detailed. Our target customers are very self aware
individuals who understand what they want. Our target customers tend to be
more introverted and use this book as an outlet for expression.This is why they
invest in myself care products such as beauty products, other interactive
books, or books. Also, we believe our users will live in urban areas where life
is bustling and busy, so our book becomes a way of relaxation. Thus, we
believe that 60% of our customer base will invest in our product to balance
express their emotions through fun activities.
