Greeting:

Good morning friends, this is my privilege to stand in front of you all to preach
the living word of God. And I would like to give thanks to God for granting me this
opportunity. I also like to give thanks to our Prof. Chandra sir to let me stand in this
pulpit before all of you. And I also thanks to all you for your kind presence.

Introduction:

Israel is about to enter the Promised Land after 40 years of wandering in the
wilderness while a rebellious generation die off. Before they are allowed to the enter the
land. This generation needed to know that God was with them, just as He had promised to
be with their father. They were about to face the fight of their lives and they needed
divine assurance that they could depended on God as they faced the people of Canaan,
and committed to live their lives for the Lord. This passage identifies Israel that their
God is a faithful God. They can rest in Him, they can trust in His word. They can believe
His promises. They can depend on His power. He wills them through whatever may come
in their way. We need this same kind of reminder today. We are living in days when the
people of the lord need to be sure they can trust the lord. I want to show you the passage
that our God is God is faithful God. There are some reasons are given that demonstrate
the truth that our God is the faithful God. Let’s us examine those reason together for a
few moments today. So if have bible please turn with me the book of Deuteronomy.7:6-
9………….

Opening prayer: let us pray………………..Amen…………..

I. Because Of His faithful passion for His people (7; 6-7)

A. The reaction of passion (v.6):

This verse states very clearly that God loves His people. God set His heart on the
people of Israel and took every necessary step to bring to Himself. “The lord your
God has chosen you”. The word “chosen means to choose, elect or decide for” of
all the people on face of the earth in that day. God choose the tiny nation of Israel to
be the focus of His love, His grace and His mercy.

B. The reasons for God’s passion (v.7):

Why did God choose Israel? In verse 7, God He did not choose them because of their
numerical superiority. He didn’t choose them because they were large in number. After
all God says that they were the “least of all people” In other words God didn’t chose
them because of any quality. God tells them just why He chose them and redeemed them.

a. He did it because of His will:-

“Because the Lord loves you” no reason is given for this love. He just set His love on
them. He chose them, He save them, blessed them just because He wanted too.

b. He did it because of His word: - The lord tells them that another reason for His grace
towards Israel had to do with his promise to their father. God made some very specific
promise Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. On the basis of those promise God kept His word and
redeemed Israel. In words they were chosen, redeemed and blessed because of God’s
promises to another.

Application: so my dear friend let us examine ourselves, let us understand His

faithfulness in our life that how much He loves us and let us understand that our God is
faithful God, merciful God.

Trans: This morning we have seen first point that is his faithful passion for his people
now I have second point that is …………..
II. Because Of His faithful performance for His people (v.8).

He delivers them: - when Joseph died in Egypt. The Egyptian appointed new
king. And when the king saw that Israelites were growing in numbers. Then the king
thought they may rule over us; because their number was growing in population. So he
started to bring the suffering burden upon the Israelites. And he brings many problems
and difficulties which was very hard for them to bear.

And after when the king of died, then the children of Israel cried for the help, they
cried out and their cried come up to God; because of the bondage. And God is faithful
God they were perched with of an innocent substitute. God delivered them from their
captivity and set them free.

He develops them: - In v.6 God calls Israel “a holy people” and “a special
people” The word Holy cares the idea of being “a saint” It is the image of something that
is set apart for God’s singular use. The word “special” carries the idea of “treasure”. God
is telling Israel that while they were small in number and have no real qualities, God
loved them and set them and has set them apart as His treasure, and as a people set apart
for his glory.

Application: my dear friends let us learn from this very passage that He
redeemed us to Himself through the blood of his son Lord Jesus Christ (Rev 5:9; Gal.4:5;
I Pet.1; 18, 19). Not only had that He delivered us from the bondage of our sin
(Rom.6:14). Let us understand how the lord is working in our life. He saved us, He
changed us and made into new creatures (II.Corin5:17). So let us keep his living word in
our life, which is truth and let us believe with whole heart in His faithful performance.

Trans: So far we have discussed firstly His faithful passion for his people,
secondly His faithful performance for His people thirdly we are going to see…………
III. Because Of His faithful promises to his people (v.9).

He is faithful God because of His name: - God is called “God” the lord the God and
“the faithful God”. Each of these names magnifies a different aspect of Israel’s God.

He is called God- This word identify Him the one who is over all. It talks about
His power, His glory and His wonders. This word reminds that His is the in charge of all
things.

He is called the Lord thy God- the name ‘Lord” is the covenant of God, it identify His as
the eternal self- existent one. He is one who will do whatever He says He will do. And He
will keep His promises to His people.

He is faithful God because of His nature: - He is called the faithful God the word
faithful speaks of God as one, who suppose can be believed. It simply reminds us that
God can be trusted. We are told that He is one who keeps covenant and mercy. The
statement simply means the God always stand by His word. He is faithful He will do
everything that He said. He can be depended upon. Our God is a God who can’t lie (Heb.
6:18). God is not a man that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent,
He said and shall He not do it or hath He spoken and shall He not make it good?
(Num.23:19).

Because who He is, we can count on Him in every situation we may face in life.

 Friend will fail, but God is faithful.

 Family will fail, but God will faithful

 Fallings will fail, but God is faithful

 Faith will fail, but God is faithful

The God we serve is faithful, because

 His faithfulness is unlimited (Ps.36:5)

 His faithfulness is unfailing (Ps.89:23)

 His faithfulness is abounding ( Lam.3:22-23)

 His faithfulness is to all His promises to those saved by His grace

(Heb.10:23)

He will save you if you come to Jesus, (Rom.10:9, 13)

He will keep you and take you to heaven when this life is over (Jn.6:37-40)

He will hear you when you call on Him (Jer.33:3)

He will meets your need (Matt. 6:25-34)

Application: My dear friends we have learned that our God is promise keeping God so
that let us trust in the faithful God. He is the faithful God by His promises, by His name
and by His nature. Let us believe in Him because He is the same God who saved the
Israelites. Let us make good relationship with Him so that He will bless us and protect us.
So let trust in His faithful promises.

Conclusion:

So my dear friends, we have discussed that our God is faithful God. Under this
title we have learned three points that god is faithful all the time and we also say why do
call that God is faithful God. We do call God is faithful, 1st point because of His faithful
passion for His people, and 2nd we’ve learned that because of His faithful performance
for His people and finally because of His faithful promises to His people.

Closing prayer: let us pray………….Amen………..
