Hydraulic jack-in piling system is a relatively modern deep foundation pilling system, which uses dead weights
to exert pressure to drive piles into the ground. It involves the displacement of surrounding soil, causes them to
compress against the shaft surface, resulting in an increased load bearing capacity. Below shows the schematic
YZY models are equipped with an on-board crane, used to pitch and hoist pile into the Jack-In system clamp
that grip onto the pile at four sides by a hydraulic grip box. Jacking force is then applied on either two sets or all
four sets of hydraulic cylinders to press the pile into the ground.
Most of YZY models has two clamp points, normal/center clamp and side clamp. For a YZY800T machine, the
normal/center jack-in point requires a minimum of 6 meters clearance from any obstruction to the piling point.
Whereas the working clearance can be reduced to 2 meters when the side clamp is used, however, by trading
off 45% of its normal applicable jacking force.
Some of the machine also comes with its own kentledge, consisting of steel counterweights and steel beam
sections that make up a build-in static load test system. Every pile installed by the machine is self tested by an
Termination Criterion
Normally, a jack-in pile is considered to set when its residual settlement does not exceed 5mm (or 2mm
suggested by G&P Geotechnical) in corresponding to a 2.0 to 2.2 times of pile working load jacking force. This
pressure must be held for 2 to 3 loading cycle, each cycle with at least 30 seconds duration.
