SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY:

TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

In a modern era of technology, life has dramatically changed for

humanity since various products arose that enables us to live a lax life. The
positive impact of science and technology into our lives is inevitable since it has
made our life easier. Innovations have become a powerful tool towards the
growth of our country’s socio-economic status because it has become a factor
towards building our capacity for development. The diaspora of science and
technology comes with how man works towards improving his quality of life
and how he can sustain such development not only in this millennial
generation but also for the future to come.

The role of science and technology in development should be directed

towards reduction of inequalities between advanced and developing countries
and between various sections of populations within a country (Balagot, 2013).
Meaning, advanced countries should be generous enough to share its best
practices to developing countries so that it can benefit the rest of the world.
Also, science and technology should not be limited of use to a single population
but should be disseminated so that somehow it can be utilized by many. Such
manifestations of science and technology should encourage camaraderie
between countries and people in sharing the best of what they have so that
they can build a better future.

In addition, science and technology should make sure that the natural
and social aspect should harmoniously coordinate with each other so that
sustainable development is achieved. With that, people should be responsible
enough in utilizing the natural resources with respect to creating innovations
so that there will still be platform for such advancement thus, the continuous
improvement through science and technology will be manifested.

Moreover, education also has its vital responsibility in the advancement

of science and technology and its role to sustain it. Schools have the
responsibility of providing technical and technological education and training
to which humanity can be oriented with the technical know-how of any
innovations. On that sense, it has to promote technological sciences and
applied research to better compensate with the advancement of technology.
Education is a powerful tool in providing people an insight on how science and
technology works in our daily life.

Science and technology is vital in any nation’s development because

without its advancement, the nation will not relatively expand. Science and
technology is associated with the modernization of a nation, thus it is
important to utilize it for rapid growth and development. How we are able to
sustain development is up in our hands. We should be directed towards
utilizing it for the benefit of everyone, share each other’s best practices so that
we are all be benefited. The social being should also be concern with our
natural resources so that they can work harmoniously towards a brighter
future. Lastly, education must share its responsibilities in promoting science
