Abstract
The following report deals with the elastic collisions thus fulfilling, the coefficient of
restitution between a bodies that bounces in another that is at rest can be determined from the
final height and the initial height; and the amount of movement as the kinetic energy is
conserved. Realizing them in 2 phases: in the first, two spheres (glass and steel) were used
and made to collide in a collision tube; and in the second, 2 hydrofoils were used, colliding
them using an air rail, weights, a photoelectric barrier and a stop. It was possible to
determine the formula of the coefficient as a function of the heights, in addition to
checking the conservation of the amount of linear movement and kinetic energy, through the
speeds obtained by means of the Software Measure.
