Austen’s real concern was with people and was the analysis of
character. She remained committed to the moral principles;
however, her work is very amusing, talking about love, marriage
and parenthood. The happy ending is a common element to her
novels: they all end in the marriage of hero and heroine. Romantic
love of Jane Austen is generally in conflict with the social
conventions, like money and social standing. There is generally the
heroine’s reflection after a crisis in these novels, to establish her
own moral autonomy.
