CHAPTER I

Problem and its Background

I. Introduction
The student handbook contains official statement of rules and regulations. It
also includes the detailof rights and obligations of every students or every
member of the campus. Thus, the students were so impulsive or ill-mannered that
they don't know what they are doing. So Student Handbook is very important for
them to be aware of school rules and regulations, eventually, wit the help of
this, parents would be notified too. It also lessens those wrongdoers to commit
violations.
Moreover this handbook will get permission from the Principal of School and
consent of parents that would make it reliable. In order for students to obey this
handbook includes punishments for those offences. With the help of this we can
observe if there is an effects with this handbook, prior to this, handbook will used
as an awareness for those students. Instead of teachers will commemorate their
fellow students violations
This study aims to determine the effects of student handbook to the discipline
of senior high school students of Pag-asa National High School. Therefore, all
students and faculty members shall abide by and observe the rules and
regulations, Herein, set-forth. They are urged to refrain committing any offense
which is inimical to the good of the students in particular and the whole academic
community in general.

Theoretical Framework
Cherry Kendra (2019) cited the Behaviorism, also known as behavioral psychology, is a theory of
learning based on the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Conditioning occurs
through interaction with the environment. Behaviorists believe that our responses to environmental
stimuli shape our actions.1According to this school of thought, behavior can be studied in a systematic
and observable manner regardless of internal mental states.Basically, only observable behavior should
be considered—cognitions, emotions, and moods are far too subjective. Strict behaviorists believed that
any person can potentially be trained to perform any task, regardless of genetic background, personality
traits, and internal thoughts (within the limits of their physical capabilities). It only requires the right
conditioning.features of behavioral psychology.
