Ted Gatlin Jr. is a non-profit professional, political activist, curriculum designer, radio personality and small business owner
with national ties. Growing up in St. Louis taught him the importance of being authentically aware of what’s happening
from within his own neighborhood as well as the global community. He has been inspired as a young person by local and
national activist work from people like Jamala Rogers and Ella Baker. These people and experiences him understand that
his role is to be connected to the work being done to change the trajectory of his people. As passionate media content
creator and producer, rru uses his voice as an instrument to incite change necessary in our society. Ted is extremely
passionate about building collaborative relationships that help to advance collective goals that support greater
communities. He believes the skills he has acquired through being immersed in many varied neighborhoods and situations
allow him to confidently connect with people of all backgrounds. He consistently uses his emotional intelligence when
engaging with people, and has been known to be a great coach and motivator.

4. How can you apply this overall knowledge of your CliftonStrengths 34 Assessment to add value to
your leadership within the community and/or community organizations?

I think this information is important for confirmation of the things that I do naturally. I now have a sense of
language that I can use in order to discuss the different levels of my leadership. I think this will help me within
the community and/or organizations because I can more effectively help people and organizations put
themselves in a position to be successful. Also, I can receive information understand it and synthesize it so that
others can easily understand.

5. What will you do differently tomorrow as a result of this assessment?

I will be more confident in my ways of thinking. I will be more intentional around understanding what people
are saying so that I am able to help make good decisions.
