Aphasia merupakan suatu keadaan dimana kehilangan kemampuan berbahasa
yang telah dipelajari sebelumnya sebagai akibat dari kerusakan otak. Kemampuan
berbahasa mencakup berbicara, menulis, mengarang, bahkan membaca, kecacatan
yang berhubungan dan dapat terjadi sehubungan dengan aphasia adalah alecia (buata
kata) dan agraphia (kesulitan dalam menulis)
