ARTY IMPORTANT INFO

 20 CMBG Fd Arty Regt = 3 Gun Bty/Regt = 2 Tps of 3 Guns/Bty
(105mm, 155mm)
 20 CMBG Mortar Bty = 3 Tps of 8 Mortars/Bty = 2 Groups of 4
Mortars/ Tp (81mm)
 1 MR Pl (3 BMP, 1 T-72, Dismnts) 200m X 200m:
155mm: Neutralize (1 Bty 8 RPG), Destroy (2 Bty 12 RPG)
 Pre-registered Tgts (1 RCHA = CA, 2RCHA = CB, 5 RALC = CC,
RAS = CD)
 An Arty Regt is able to engage a tgt effectively on the 1st rd will inflict
more damage in 5 min than a Bty in 1 hr.
 With the capabilities of the new LAV OPV, 1st rd on tgt should be the
expectation.
 The FOO has the skill and the comms ability to bring indirect fire
onto a tgt within 1 min in most cases.
 The Comd tells the FOO the required effects on the enemy and
duration needed and the FOO will then develop a supporting fire
plan in conjunction with his higher arty HQ.
 Arty Regt has 3 gun Btys of 6 guns. Currently there are only 6 FOOs
in a Regt to support a Bde, which has the capability of generating 3
BGs. Each of these BGs can in turn potentially field 3 Cbt Tms, so
each BG will be competing for 1 Regt of guns and limited FOOs.
Artillery transformation will bring the number of FOO to 11 and FAC to
3 per Regt (3 arty tac gp: 1 BC, 1 FSCC, 4 FOO and 1 FAC per BG)

 Planning Time: To dig in a def rifle coy posn with run ups for the
LAVs in AVERAGE soil during DAYLIGHT with 1x MPEV and 1x FEL
would take approx 10 hrs (4hrs for Coy + 6hrs for LAVs). Add the
additional 4.5hrs of work to stage 5 by the coy soldiers themselves
gives a total of 14,5 hrs.
 Each Fd Sect (with their vehicle) carries enough mines and
explosives to build one crater group, or one small (50m diameter)
point nuisance minefield.
 Minefield dimensions are not standardized. However, when
planning for a disrupt or fix minefield a dimension of 250m long X
150m deep can be used, and for blocking or turning a dimension of
500m long X 250m deep.
