TIPS FOR CHEMISTRY EXAMINATION
CLASS XII

GENERAL TIPS FOREXAMINATION PREPARATIONS

 Confidence: It is most important and must have thing in every student if He/She wishes to score maximum
in CBSE Board exams 2020. Confidence provides you with the strength to do anything, So always be filled
with confidence and feel like you can definitely achieve maximum marks in Exams.

 Planning: Planning is the key to success in life and particularly for the exams. So plan your schedule of studies
meticulously, giving time to each topic according to its difficulty index.

 Do not try to rush and finish the chapters. You should understand that reading a book that deals with scientific
concepts, theory and reactions is different from reading a novel. Make short notes on the topics covered in a
unit.

 Make a list of all the formulae used in physical chemistry, named reactions in organic chemistry and important
chemical reactions of inorganic chemistry and keep them on your study table for repetitive revision.

 Do not ignore numerical problems. Most of the times, the problems are direct application of the formulae in use,
and, at times are mixed with your understanding of a topic. So practice them well and solve them completely,
paying equal attention to the units of the physical quantities.

 Once you finish your syllabus, do solve the sample papers provided by CBSE in a timed environment.

 Make a list of unanswered questions and discuss them with your teacher.
 If finding difficulty in solving problems of a particular topic, give thorough revision to that specific topic and
take help from your teacher;

 If the need be (and if you have sufficient time) Follow up your NCERT concepts with a reference book to gain a
deeper understanding of the topic.

 After you finish your syllabus, revise as many times as possible.

 Sleep well on the night before the exam to keep the mind and body relaxed.

the appropriate question to be solved, wherever, internal choices have been provided to avoid wastage of time
later.

 Write neatly with proper margins (presentation matters too).

 For long answer type questions, before starting, frame a skeleton of the answer in the margin.

 Do not get stuck to a question for a long time, if unable to solve, leave space for it and move on to the next
question.

 Do remember the S.I units of all the entities.

 Even if the complete solution to a particular question is not known, try to attempt it. Marks are awarded for
correct steps.
 During the exam, try to write your descriptive answers in points and give pictorial or graphical illustrations
wherever possible. It enhances visibility. Underline the keywords.
