I. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES:
 Prayer
- Class, before we start, let us all stand and pray
(Calls a student to lead the prayer). -Amen.

 Cleaning
- Before you sit down, please pick up all the pieces of
paper and trash that you might see under your arm - (Arrange chairs and picks up pieces
chairs and please arrange your chairs properly. of paper and trash).

- Okay class you may now take your seats. -(Take their seats)

 Greetings
-Good Morning class! -Good Morning Sir.

-How are you today? - We feel great sir

-Okay then, give yourselves a mommy shark clap.

A. ACTIVITY/MOTIVATION

Today we will discuss an interesting topic. But

before that, Let’s play a game. Who want some
prizes?!

Well all of you want some.

I will group you into 2. Here I am holding some

boxes, this box contains cards. You will find Ax, By,
and C in this box then put it into the corresponding
letters here in the board.
Whoever group finishes first will have their prize.

Are you ready? -yes sir.

Okay let’s start.

A. ANALYSIS

- Class did you enjoy our activity for today? - yes sir.

- What did you do to win? - We cooperate with each other to win

sir.
-What did you observe in our activity? - It has x and y variables
-it is an equation
Very Good. Give yourself a daddy shark clap.

Okay Let’s proceed to our topic for today.

Our topic for today is all about linear equation in
two variables

B. ABSTRACTION

LINEAR EQUATION IN TWO VARIABLES

(Ask for a student to read.)

Linear Equation in two variables can be written in the

standard form :

Ax + By + C = 0

Where:
A and B are not zero

A, B and C are real numbers which includes positive

and negative numbers.

Who can read the examples on the board?

(calls a student to read for the examples)

1. 4x + 2y + 8 = 0
2. 5x - 3y + 11 = 0
3. 2x + 6y - 5 = 0
4. 7x – 4y + 20 = 0

-Very Good.
-The following are examples of linear equations in two
variables
(The teacher will answer number 1 and 2 which will serve
as an example).

Now let us try to find the value of A,B and C for the
example in number 1:

1. 4x + 2y + 8 =0

Since the equation is already on a standard form, we

can now find the value of A, B and C.
As you can see:
The coefficient of variable x is A,
The coefficient of variable y is B
And C is a constant

Therefore:

The value of A = 4
The value of B = 2
And the value of C= 8

let’s try another example:

2. 5x - 3y + 11 = 0

The equation is already on a standard form. We can

now find the value of A, B and C.
As you can see;
The coefficient of variable x is A,
The coefficient of variable y is B
And C is a constant

Therefore:

The value of A = 5
The value of B = -3
And the value of C= 11

Now try to find the value of A, B and C for the examples on

number 3 and 4.

(The students will answer number 3 ,and 4 orally )

3. 2x + 6y – 5 = 0 ANSWERS:
-The value of A = 2, the value of B = 6
4. 7x – 4y + 20 = 0 and the value of C = -5
-The value of A = 7, the value of B = -4
and the value of C = 20
- Very good! Give yourselves a Grandpa Shark Clap.
-(Claps)
-Okay class, did you understand?
- Do you have any questions? -Yes sir.
-none sir.
C. APPLICATION
Class, are you ready for another activity?

Our activity is called “what’s in the box?” sounds interesting

right?

As you can see, I am holding a box; this box contains questions

that you will answer. As soon as you hear the music, you will
pass the box to the right and when the music stops, whoever
holds the box will pick to read and answer the question.

Okay, are you ready?

Let’s start. -yes sir

Questions:
1. What is the value of A in the equation Answers:
2x + 2y + 4 =0? 1. The value of A is 2
2. What is the value of B in the equation
4x + 4y + 16 =0? 2. The value of B is 4
3. What is the value of C in the equation
x + y + 4 = 0? 3. The value of C is 4
4. What is the value of A in the equation
x + y + 2 = 0? 4. The value of A is 1
5. What is the value of B in the equation
x – 3y + 1 = 0? 5. The value of B is -3

Very good! Give yourselves a daddy shark clap.

-( claps )
IV. GENERALIZATION:
Class let’s have a recap on our topic for today.
(the teacher will ask about what the students learned during
the lesson)
 What is the standard form of a linear equation in -the standard form of Linear Equation
two variables? in two variables is:
Ax + By + C = 0

V. EVALUATION:
