INTRODUCTION
GENERAL
The information contained in this manual can be used to calculate the number of
labor hours required to perform specific line maintenance tasks on the AE 3007
series turbofan engines. Please consult the AE3007 Standard Labor Hour
Manual for hours necessary to perform shop level and overhaul maintenance
tasks. The number of hours necessary to do each task has been determined
based on field experience, time studies and estimates with consideration given to
task procedures, accessibility, and other factors.
ASSUMPTIONS
• A skilled, experienced mechanic will perform the task.
• Work is performed IAW applicable published bulletins and technical manuals.
• All necessary facilities, tools and equipment are on hand and utilized per the
manufacturer’s instructions.
• All necessary replacement parts are available and in position.
• Labor hour allowances are the total, uninterrupted man-hour time required to
perform the task listed.
Inclusions
All labor hour allowances include the following:
¾ Time required to remove all engine access panels, ducts, tubes, harnesses,
and components necessary to gain access and to perform the task.
¾ Time required to complete all subtasks referenced by the engine
maintenance manual task necessary to get access.
¾ Time required to complete all necessary maintenance record entries and
other documentation.
Exclusions
Labor hour allowances listed for a given task do not include the following:
¾ Time required to prepare the aircraft including removal of cowling, pulling of

circuit breakers, and placing warning signs. The time required to perform
these tasks are outlined in the Additional Labor Hour Allowances section.
¾ Time required to run the engine when prescribed by the published task.
Time required for engine runs are listed as separate maintenance tasks
(Chapter 72, Engine – General) and must be added to the total time.
¾ Additional time required due to training of personnel or performing other
shop duties not directly specified in the procedures outlined in the task.

ADDITIONAL LABOR HOUR ALLOWANCES
The following allowances are not listed in the standard labor hours section but
will be reimbursed in accordance with the warranty or CorporateCare®
agreement.
Access
Remove and install the engine cowling (upper and lower) 0.50 hours
Prepare the aircraft for engine maintenance 0.30 hours
(circuit breakers, placement of signs, etc)
Documentation
Completion of all related maintenance record entries and 0.30 hours
other applicable documentation
Troubleshooting
Document troubleshooting activities separately from other tasks. Reference the
applicable FIM task where possible. Allowances for troubleshooting vary widely
and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Contact your Rolls-Royce
customer support representative for guidance regarding troubleshooting
allowances.
You should add troubleshooting and access times to the total time required to do
a task where applicable.
To ensure timely and accurate processing of claims, please provide task and/or
service bulletin numbers in all documentation. Also, please provide a brief
description of circumstances that required additional time for troubleshooting and
maintenance for all job documentation.

DEVIATION FROM STANDARD LABOR HOUR ALLOWANCES
The labor rates listed in this manual are based on field experience and time study
analysis. The following policies are applicable for resolving any standard labor
hour discrepancy:
• All requests for one-time deviations or modification to the standard labor hour
allowance must be submitted to Rolls-Royce in writing.
• One-time deviation requests will be reviewed by Rolls-Royce customer
service representatives and must be authorized prior to submission of a
request.
• Requests for permanent modifications to the established allowances will be
evaluated by a time study analysis as agreed to by Rolls-Royce.
• Time studies will be scheduled on a mutually agreeable basis.
• Once a time study has been accomplished and labor allowances found to be
mutually agreeable, there will be no requirement to perform additional time
studies unless there is a substantial modification to the maintenance task.
• Rolls-Royce retains the right to modify standard labor hour allowances at any
time based on actual fleet experience.
ALLOWANCES FOR SERVICE BULLETINS
The “Manpower” section of each service bulletin will give the allowed time to
complete all steps in that bulletin including tasks referenced to a published
manual.
A dash “-“ in the Hours Allowed column indicates that no official allowance has
been determined for that task at this time
