Editor in Chief ’s Message
Greetings!
Welcome to The ClimAct Magazine!

We began with the year 2014 and have achieved so

many goals and objectives. Completing half a decade
with the community connected with us, I wish to
continue more effective actions which will have broader
aims. The CBN’s 2019 achievements are too
numerous to squeeze onto these pages, so I’ll limit this
message to the most significant activities from the past
year. In fact, this past year was a strong one in terms
of our Magazine, the ClimAct. In sum, 2019 was a
success in large part because CBN members and
writers collaborated on reaching our ambitious goals. I
look forward to our continued partnership in future.
Thanks and Regards,
Tayyab Shafique

Book of this year is near to ends here

But the pages of pollution ready to share

May the story take the turn

But satisfying ending is very rare

Story tells, the earth gets warm

Resist the blessings, rings the alarm

Melting, degrading become common words

Flooding the nature, losing the charm

Turning chapters increases emissions

Mark the stop, initiate new session

Reading book can’t stop the pollution

Upstairs the steps, discover solution

Different models have been developed for a range of
organisms including insects and birds. The present
distribution of a species is modeled as a function of
measurable environmental variables and for their
future distribution; their particular ecological niche
is projected onto a model that displays a varied
climate. The assumption maintained with these
models is that if at a specific location the
environmental conditions are appropriate for a

habitat has underwent changes, adapt to the rapidly

climatically suitable for survival. Researchers have
used lattice models to study how hypothetical

The Global Climate Risk Index has placed

Pakistan on the fifth spot on the list of
countries most vulnerable to climate change
in its annual report for 2020, which was

According to the report, Pakistan lost 9,989

billion and witnessed 152 extreme weather
events from 1999 to 2018 and based on this
data, the think-tank has concluded that
Pakistan's vulnerability to climate change is

Climate change triggers widespread migration in Pakistan

Extreme weather patterns, shrinking

agriculture, sea erosion, and lingering dry
