Honors Chorus
Spring 2020
If you are receiving this, congratulations are in order! You are being invited based on either your honors chorus
participation last semester or your choral achievements this current semester. I am very elated to have had so much
interest in honors credit for this semester, and unfortunately I am not able to meet everyone’s interest. So, consider it a
high honor to be selected for honors chorus credit.
Requirements
For spring honors chorus credit, students meet with Mr. Joyner during their designated lunch period to have a private
lesson on an assigned classical composition. If you take private lessons and would like to work on a classical piece that
you are already working on, I will be glad to do that. Please communicate on what you would like.
Honors students will be required to attend and participate in several things. Please make arrangements now to attend
these events. These events are listed below.
In addition to these requirements, there will be listening assignments posted in Google Classroom for you to complete.
These assignments will revolve around operatic and classical voice performances. Instructions for each assignment will
be posted in fuller detail later.
If you accept the responsibilities associated with receiving honors credit, please detach the bottom portion and turn it in
to Mr. Joyner no later than December 17.
Congratulations again!
Best,
Mr. Joyner
I understand and accept the responsibilities and assignments associated with receiving honors credit for chorus.
