SAP HANA Studio at a glance


 The SAP HANA studio is a collection of applications
for SAP HANA.
 It enables technical users to manage the SAP HANA
database, to create and manage user authorizations, Application
and to create new or modify existing models of data Database

 Open SAP HANA Studio
 Choose SAP HANA Administration Console
 Click on “Add System” icon
 Insert Hostname, Instance Number, Description
 Provide user and password

SAP HANA Backup & Recovery

SAP HANA database Data backups


 Contain the current payload of the data volumes
Memory  Full online backup – read and write access possible
during backup creation (shadow page concept)
 Manual (SAP HANA studio, SQL commands), or
Savepoint COMMIT scheduled (DBA Cockpit)
Log backups
 Contain the content of closed log segments
Data Area Log Area
(disk)  Automatic (asynchronous) whenever a log segment is
(disk) full or the timeout for log backup has elapsed

Data Backups Log Backups File-based Backups, Storage Snapshots and Third
Party tools (Backint) are supported.

 Open SAP HANA Studio
 Right-click on your SAP HANA System in
Administration Console
 Select “Backup and Recovery” and click on “Back up
System…”
 Specify Backup Destination and Prefix
 Verify Settings
 Confirm

virtual machine.

The names of the hosts to connect to will be given by the session instructors

 SAP System ID (SID): TDH

User for logon

 Linux OS user: tdhadm Password: admin
