Marking God’s Faithfulness!

As we continue to move towards our goal, our hearts are full
of joy as we `experience how God works in the lives of each
Staff, Missionary, Volunteer, Donor, Leader, Church, and
Child in and through Awana Ministry. Year 2019 has been a
roller-coaster ride to us and yet we praise and thank God as
He lets Awana get through them. We were able to open 154
clubs, trained 1,025 leaders and reached 7,845 children for
the past 11 months! Indeed, God is awesome! For the past
35 years, His love endures forever!!!
What are the things that are significant to us that we mark in our
lives with? Last November 29, 2019, Awana Philippines together
with its Board Members and staff celebrated and marked God’s
faithfulness. Awana National Director, Rev. Zoilo Anat Jr. shared
with everyone how certain MARKINGS are important in our lives.
We need to capture the significance of each event and make them
as milestones that we can look back to it and would keep us going
into the future, into the “unknown”. In Genesis 8, Noah marked
the end of the flood with an altar offering. In Genesis 12 in
Shechem after Abraham had a meeting with God, receiving the
promise, he built an altar to God. In Genesis 35, Jacob marked his
encounter with God with an Altar in El Bethel. In Joshua 4, while
the Israelites were crossing the Jordan River, Joshua stacked
stones under the river and marked it. For us in Awana Philippines,
we mark 2019 with an altar to God in our hearts that He has kept
this ministry going and growing.

 HIGHLIGHTS
We receive stories after stories from our Awana clubs each month. Stories on how Awana
has blessed and touch the lives of the children that also made a positive impact in their
families and communities. Two of them are Edreh and Ruth from Berean Bible Baptist
Church, Davao. These children were invited to attend Awana and praise God, the two of
them came to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They’re now actively participating in
the Awana Club in their church every Sunday. When they were asked as to what change
has God made in their lives? Edreh answered, “It was my character and my manners that
were changed. Perhaps, if I have not gotten to church before, I wouldn’t be able to know
and accept the Lord as my Savior today.” For Ruth her reply was “When I commit sin, I
feel guilty about it and I begin to realize that what I’ve done was wrong”. Their parents
are now also attending church with them because of the change they saw in their
children’s lives. Truly, there is hope in this world and it is only found in Jesus Christ our
Lord and Savior. As it reach a boy or a girl it also opens an opportunity for the family to
be reached with the gospel as in the case of Edreh and Ruth.

• everyone to practice Intimacy and Dependency to
God, in all our actions according to His will.

Indonesia with about 65million children below 15 years of age

is a vast mission field. We praise the Lord for the favorable
result of the Awana Leaders Training in Bali, Indonesia last November 14-16. It was well
attended by Missionaries, Church Leaders and School Owners from different parts of
Indonesia (Java, Sulawesi, Bali, Papua & Nusa Tenggara). There was a total of 33 delegates who
attended the training. In this training the challenge to the Indonesians was to be more active and
faithful and see the urgency of this mission. As a result of the training, the participants came up
with the 2020 goal commitment of having 170 Clubs, 525 Leaders and 4,010 Children. All for God’s
glory and that the next generation of this country will become strong and faithful leaders.
Announcements
Inviting all Teachers, Children Workers, Pastors, Leaders, Sunday
School teachers and Stakeholders of today’s generation to the
Awana Children Discipleship Forum 2020. The objective of this
Leadership Forum is that the leaders will informed and be
equipped that they will become relevant and effective in
reaching and discipling the children and youth of today. It is also
the purpose of this forum that other leaders can connect with
others that they will be ignited, challenged and come out with
renewed passion in serving the children and the youth. This will
be held in Green Valley, Baguio City, Philippines, on March 12 to
14, 2020. transformed through this life changing event. Please
do register right away as we do have limited slots for this forum.
