SESSION OBJECTIVES

Have a deeper understanding of the K-3 curriculum


Realize the significant role of instructional supervision in improving the
quality education
Be aware of current K-3 pupil achievement levels
Identify the developmental characteristics of children aged four to seven
Realize the importance of knowing the developmental characteristics of
the learners to the designing developmentally appropriate lessons
Identify the stages of learning to read
Cite the relationship between the knowledge of the languages used for
instruction and the development of literacy skills.

Identify the different domains of literacy in the K-12 Languages curriculum


Recall the characteristics of the learners at the emergent, beginning
and fluency stages and identify the literacy skills that should
