opportunity to be able to compile this file with the tittle “ Present Form” is properly, correctly
and on time.

This file is structured so that the readers can know kinds of present in grammar. This
file was compiled with help from various parties. Both parties come from outside as well as
from [arties concerned itself. And because the aid and helf of god almighty, these file can be
finally resolved.

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION

A. Background
If you are learning English ay a college, school or further education, you join
approximately one billon other people around the world who are involved in the same
pursuit. However, because you are trying to memorize grammar and try to avoid the
common mistake for students learning English, you might be wondering why you can
learn English in first place.
Language plays an important role in human life. One seeks to acquire, learn
and use the language as means of communication, and social as well as symbol of
humanity. By using the language aperson can make statements, convey facts and
knowledge, explain or report something, and maintaining social relationships between
the users of language. This shows that by using language , people can express their
ideas, feeling, ect of information through communication. So important to us to learn
language especially English. To learn English we have to know grammar of tenses, so
in this paper there is several grammar especially present form.

CHAPTER 2 DISCUSTION

A. Simple present tense

Simple present tense is simple phrase used to describe a daily axtivity or daily habits. The
present tense also used an act or activity that takes place or occurs in the present time in a
simple form. The present tense is used to express:

1. The simple present tense to express habits


Examples :
a. She washes his bottle
b. I write a novel
c. The cat takes my fried chicken
2. The simple present tense can be used to talk about general truths
Examples:
a. Medan is a big city
b. My mother is a teacher
c. They are my brothers
3. The simple present tense to instructions or directions
Examples:
a. Open the book, please!
b. put the noodle into water
c. take the jacket behind the door
4. The simple present tense repeated actions or events
Example:
a. She goes to school everyday
b. It rains every afternoon
c. They read a book every week
5. The simple present tense express emotions
Examples:
a. I am being ill
b. They are happy
c. My uncle is sad because he loss his glass

In simple present use of a subject for a third person such as ( he, she, it) added s or es in his
verb. There are some rules that must be observed when added s/es to the verb.

Adjective always use after” to be”. The difrence of verb and ajective is the form of adjective is not affected by
time and which “to Be” only changes, while the form of the verb is affected by time, so it changes, except for
irregular verbs, for example ” put “.

B. Present perpect tense


The present perpect tense refers to an action or state that either occurred at an
indefinite time in the past or began in the past and continued to the present time. The
present perpect tense used to express, among others:
1. Present perpect tense use to express an event begins in the past and continues up
to the present moment
Example: I have been here since 7 a.m
Key words that indicate this situation, among others:
- Since
- For (period of time)
- All (period of time)
2. Present perpect tense use to express when a potion of time is not completed
Example: I have spoken to lise many times this week
Key words that indicate this situation, among others:
- Today
- This year
- This winter
3. Present perpect tense use to express when there is an action or repeated action in
the past with no specipic time
Example: they have moved into a new apartment
4. Present perpect tense use to notice how in this sense of the tense, the action can
happen one or several times
Example: he has already eaten
Key words that indicate this situation, among others:
- Already
- Just
- Never
- Yet
- Once
- Often
- Several times

C. Present continuous tense


Present continuous tense used to show that an ongoing action is happening now, either
at the moment of speech or now in a larger sense. The present continuous can also be
used to show that an action is going to take place in the near future.

D. Present perpect continuous tense

Present perpect continuous tense is a verb tense wich is used to show that an action
started in the past and has continued up to the present moment. The present continuous
tense usually emphasizes duration, or the amount of time that an action has been taking
place.

There is four kind of present form, among others:


1. Present tense is simple phrase used to describe a daily axtivity or daily habits.
2. Present perpect tense refers to an action or state that either occurred at an

time.
3. Present continuous tense used to show that an ongoing action is happening
now, either at the moment of speech or now in a larger sense.
4. Present perpect continuous tense is a word wich is used to show that an action
started in the past and has continued up to the present moment

B. Suggestion

We are as the writer want to apology for the mistakes of this paper. We know that
this paper is still far from perpect. We hope with this paper the reader can
understand about grammar, especially present form
