RSCON Reflection

They say that every convention, the main purpose is to gather all the students on that
particular course to enjoy, make friends, and make memories. But in every event, there is always
a competition. For 4 years of joining the Regional Schools Conference of the Electrical
Engineering program, I can say that every year expectations increases including the venue, foods,
events, and many more.
As a quizzer, UM Davao has been the greatest opponent to the other schools in academic,
sports, and musical competitions. This year many things changed. UM has placed in the top two
spots in the 2016 and 2018 Regional Math Wizard and in the 2017 Regional Quiz Show which
serves as a ticket to qualify for the National Math Wizard and Quiz Show. But this year we only
placed 3rd on the Math Wizard and 4th on the Quiz Show. Questions were really hard this year
and some terms and problems were not found on reviewers and books. As team captain of the
quiz show, I felt disappointed because we didn’t maintain the winning streak of UM. It made me
come up to a realization that we should really study not just a week before the said event but a
month or even more to prepare. It is not always that we win. There are days and years that we
will not shine but as what the university philosophy states that we should be polished like
diamonds in the rough.
We went home without bringing home the bacon, but the memories, the bond of every
delegate, and the happy moments while staying at General Santos City will live on forever. This
will be my last RSCON and I hope someday that UM Davao will return to its shining glory and
each delegate would have a smile on their faces.

Intramurals
The intramurals of the University of Mindanao happened last August 29-31, 2019.
Organizations were given the task to have a booth and decorate it for the best booth

The UMEESS had a photobooth which only cost 5 pesos and can be given to the
customer the next day. They also had a stacking game in which who can win 3 consecutive
games will get a t-shirt. In order for the students to get a signature from our booth for their
