• Set transportation Solution Design (SD) strategy governing direction and conduct, aligning to the business strategy at country level.
• Lead the strategic development of the transport solution design agenda for country including people development, solution skill sets and solution innovation in transport
design across sectors.
• Maximize the performance of the transportation SD function by providing strategic leadership and coordination across India.
• Lead strategically significant solution design programs and projects.
• Accountable for executing against the defined solution design methodology & tools.
• Lead talent management and succession planning for the team / function.
• Develop relationships with Country, Regional & Global customers to uncover needs & opportunities in order to achieve DSC's growth, contract retention and continuous
improvement objectives.
• Manage training transport solutions and use of standard Transport Solution Design tools & methodology.
Role Purpose • Manage governance model & support framework for all transport solution design tools & methodology.
• Ensure quality control/assurance of transport SD pursuit activities.
• Engage and support Sector Business & Transport Solutions Development to ensure process discipline and consistency leading to optimum input to SD pursuit processes
and facilitating efficient use of SD resource.
• Consultative support to the Sectors in the form of value propositions and general facilitation as requested by the business.
• Conceives and nurtures breakthrough transport solutions and services that create new value for customers and DHL.
• Ensure that our Transport Design solutions remain industry leading through the team’s expertise, thoroughness of the design process and forward thinking.
• Ensure all our proposed solutions can provide the highest levels of operational safety.
• Manage allocated resources to deliver greatest return.
• Industrialises best in class solutions and pursues standardisation.

Key Tasks, Accountabilities and Responsibilities


• Lead SD effort in complex must win transport projects to deliver business growth, retain and improve existing business.
• Full authority to shape Transportation Solutions Design with sign-off from SD Country Lead, SD Region Lead, SD Center of Excellence, and Regional Stakeholders,
including trainings and setting of standards/ methodology within the respective teams across the country.
• Lead Solutions Design Transportation Practice in the country.
• Builds & maintains strong relationships with senior management of other internal functions and divisions (e.g. BD, Operations, Project Management, Risk, IT, HR, Finance,
Legal, Real Estate).
Key Accountabilities • Successfully influences key stakeholders to ensure Solution Design work stream deliverables are achieved & meet project objectives for major projects.
• Proactively promotes community building across the region & globe to support the creation of networks with other key stakeholders for further knowledge sharing.
• Participates in key industry bodies and councils acting as a coach and advisor when applicable.
• Create organizational culture that supports and cultivates innovation.
• Ensure quality management through process adherence to key SD Milestones (i.e statement of work, profiling and assumptions validation, cost model, etc).

• Wide ranging knowledge of divisional products and capabilities.
• Extensive knowledge of all Sectors, Customers and Products.
Divisional Experience • End to End SC Experience with focus on transportation.

• Consultative and Facilitation Skills (internal and external).


• Understanding of Business Development Process.
• Transportation, logistics and broader supply chain knowledge at a detailed / executional level.
• Must have exposure to modeling of complex domestic transport network, logistics / transport operations, etc.
• Experience in at least one modeling / simulation tool.
• Expert in Supply Chain Engineering Disciplines.
Functional Experience • An advanced user of tools such as Microsoft Excel to perform complex data analysis.
