I am eager and passionate to dig my knowledge in Civil Engineering. I hope that I’ll
become professional future engineer. My passion and interest in buildings and art,
bring me to get to know more about Civil Engineering. I had found on how
beautiful the buildings are created by a good architecture and calculation, but
sometimes we never thought about elements that make it good.
I’m fully aware that it always dares me to think about how to build a building that
does not only cost too much money in this unpredictable economic flow but also
gives convenience to the users of this building.
Infrastructure had attracted my brain to explore more studies that I have to dig
more deeply in order to achieve what I think is my future and I am passionate
about it. The more I discover, the more I realize that infrastructure and spatial are
inseparable from human life. Without infrastructure, mobility could not work well.

Since I was a kid, I love to construct on how things work like designing my
imagination city, I never forget to build the stream of the river, park, factory,
military force, dam, and other groundworks to support my city’s sustainability.This
impacts me now that being Civil Engineer is one of my passions.
I need to find national-standardized platforms to develop myself personally and to
upgrade my capacity as tomorrow’s professional future engineer. I need to gain
experience and education to develop my critical thinking in academically,
especially to get to know how every building or infrastructure across nation.
Because Infrastructure is the fundamental thing to increase economic growth. I
believe, Tidar University is one of the Univesity which can encourage me to be a
better person for my community and future professional.

Environmental engineering is “the branch of engineering that is concerned with

protecting people from the effects of adverse environmental effects, such as
pollution, as well as improving environmental quality.” However, to me
environmental engineering is simply being able to assure our planet is safe for us
to live on for years to come.

Why do I want to be a civil engineer? Until recently, I did not know the answer to this question myself. I was lost when
choosing a career. Then, I read about civil engineering, an occupation involving the construction of buildings, roads,
and bridges.As I looked farther into civil engineering, I liked many of the other aspects involved with the career.
Although the education will be difficult, I have determined that civil engineering is the career that I want to
pursue.What is civil engineering? This career can not be defined using just a few words.The many obstacles that civil
engineers must overcome cover a vast area of responsibilities.

Upon deciding to pursue a career in civil engineering, I must have many attribute that help me decide for myself if I
am right for this career. Probable civil engineers can be found occupying their childhood time with mechanical toys
and structural sets instead of traditional toys. These people will get enjoyment from planning, designing, and
constructing works or facilities. They also have the ability to see how intelligent use of nature has made our
civilization today possible and have the desire to want to improve it

The role of the structural engineer is a key component in the construction process. Part of the wider
discipline of civil engineering, structural engineering is concerned with the design and physical integrity
of buildings and other large structures, like tunnels and bridges

Duties :
 Prepare reports, designs and drawings.
 Make calculations about pressures, loads and stresses.
 Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
 Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
 Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval.
 Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.
