M At the end of the lesson, most pupils will be able to use suitable greeting when writing a message.

1. Show a picture of classroom object.


I. PRE-LESSON 2. Cover it up as a whole or part of it and let them guess the covered part.
3. Repeat with other objects.

1. Display a message chart on the board.


2. Guide pupils to read the chart.
3. Read each sentence for pupils to repeat in chorus.
4. Practise a few times as necessary.
5. Tell pupils they are going to write a message by rearranging words to form the correct
sentences. Remind them to use capital letters for personal names.
6. Organise pupils into groups.
II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT 7. Give each group a set of word cards, an envelope and a blank message card.
8. Pupils should arrange the words to make sentences.
9. Then, pupils write the message on the card given.
10. Display pupils’ messages on the classroom’s wall.
11. Conduct gallery walk.
12. In groups, pupils walk around and check their friends’ messages.
13. Discuss answers with pupils.
14. Pupils rewrite the message using the templates given.

1. Write classroom object words on the board with mixed letters. (e.g. bburer for rubber)
